My Black Legion Rhino. Criticism more than welcome! I want to improve after all so be as harsh as you want. No one in my family knows about miniatures so they all tell me 'It's great' which doesn't help at all. I can't preview photos, so hopefully they're not too big.

I'd have to agree that it looks a little too "clean" for a chaos rhino. Other than that, very well done.

Thanks guys I also figured out it looks clean when I finished it (which is why I added some armor chips, although it's not enough). I was thinking of making it muddy, but then I'd probably have to make all my chaos space marines' bases also muddy, which I didn't want, and frankly I'm not sure if mud looks good on black. Being a newbie I decided against some advanced techniques that would probably ruin the vehicle due to my incompetence. Although if you got any easy ideas on how to improve it, I'm all ears!

Thanks again for the responses.

And I do not. Honestly, freehand is something that should always be practiced and never actually done. It is the highest of all painting techniques and is definitely not a good idea for beginners. That's why I suspect you said that out of encouragement.

The lights look a bit off, too. Try making them more of a pale white. There might be something with the marine, but I can't really make him out. Oh, and the blood on the ramming spikes needs to look darker and, and ever so slightly more splattered. You've already successfully done some of it, but just not quite enough. Chipping the paint is a good idea, but with the criticisms I have I'd say you're eating desert first by attempting that when the armor of the vehicle doesn't have anything wrong with it.

First of all, thanks a lot for taking to time to study and point out the negatives of my rhino.

I feel a bit embarassed saying this, but the eye isn't even freehand, it's a component and it was clearly defined. I just kinda did a really sloppy job with it (I will improve it, though, because your post made me realize it does look pretty bad). As for the chips, you're right, they kinda look out of place with the whole rhino being so clean, but like I said, I didn't want to try something that would potentially ruin the vehicle. There are more mistakes not visible on these pics. Let's just say this vehicle taught me that the primer black spray isn't the same as citadel black (It's visible on the pic I just uploaded, on the lower left).

Again, I really appreciate it.
