Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had an easy conversion for combi-plasmas and combi-flamers.
The sternguard kit comes with two of each but I need 10
Or if anyone knows any kits that come with alot - is there a combi weapon bitz pack?

And this other is the same, a plasma pistol and a stormbolter from the space wolves pack,, this is a little more complicated, because you have to cut and carve the half of the stormbolter, but is a good result

Iv made a couple of combi meltas, you get the general idea. Hope this helps. Il knock up a flamer and plasma if I get the chance this afternoon. Its generally the same idea though.

Storm bolter version

I vote for the verticle combi's, the side by side storm bolter ones look like a kid has glued 2 guns together imo.

I have a couple of minutes after all and threw this together.
Depending on what bits you have will depend on what you are going to use i guess. My Wolves are Heresy era so I built this one with that in mind. but it will work with all.

I think Im gonna have to do this in parts as it keeps adding the same image over and over.

To start with.

Choose your parts. As I said mine is heresy era so iv used the flamer from FW.

Remove the parts you require. in this case the fuel bottle and the nozzle.

Remove the flash eliminator and other parts from the bolter.

Glue (and pin) your flash eliminator and the flamer nozzle to the bolter.

You could either leave it at this stage if you wish making your own fluff as to why it has no fuel bottle, its in his suit via a tube running down his arm to his palm

or

Find a place for the bottle. Iv added it to the bottom but you could add it to the side, top or at the back like the new combi flamer in the tac squad pack.

hope this helped. its the same idea with the plasma, just use a plasma pistol. the FW plasma pistols work well as they are a lot smaller than the GW versions. Id do a tutorial on one but cant find a spare pistol. Any question or you really want me to do a tut on the plasma, let me know il hunt one out. This is as simple as it gets for converting. this took around 3 mins. so as long as you bave all the bits. 10 should take you around half an hr. simple and quick

You could also probably troll eBay for combis from the stern kits, I haven't looked for them since the new kits came out but I am sure someone is chopping them up.

I say use infernus/flamer/plasma pistols, makes it look more "to scale" for single shot weapons, and I would wove to do it with storm bolters but then you might aswell ebay for the GW bits lol

Chapterhouse also creates a combi weapon kit that already comes with holes for magnets.

But with the newer GW SM kits including more combi weapons ebay will also be a viable source i'd imagine. (And maybe even be cheaper than the 3rd party ones.)

I got carried away with converting this is with a bolt pistol, flame pistol, contemptor flamer and a platicard barrel.

Under slung combi-flamer. Will add an arm brace when I mount it. The mag for the bolter is on the other side like a sten gun.

The first combi-plasma is definitely my favorite. I'll have to see if I can dig out the handful of combi-flamers I had converted years ago, although they really don't hold a candle (no pun intended) to anything here.

Thanks a heap guys, really helpful I prefer the vertical combi weapons as opposed to side by side but really helpful.
I think I'll trawl eBay before trying my own conversions - I'd prefer the consistency of GW components.

The chapter house combi weapons look pretty good but at $3.50 a weapon it's a bit expensive (I need 18) ... Same with eBay though.

The combi-plasmas from the sternguard kit don't actually look that hard to replicate

Check out my custom warpsmith In my bloodborn thread. He has a melta/plasma combi weapon. Not strictly game legal, but I figured it fits the dark mechanicus fluff. Lol. I can always say its a silencer on the bolter.
