Mindless Spore Mine

So I recently posted about a list that I was fielding in a reunion game with my Tyranids against Orks.

As I was Nids, I subsequently lost.

Now, considering I once had a large WAAAAAAGH! which I went on to sell, and I know how to play the army well (Not to blow my own trumpet or anything ), and with a Nid update on the way, should I go back to my Orks?

Seriously, both armies are getting a 6th edition update, but I doubt Nids will ever be any good since the latest codex.

any suggestions?

My local Nid player STOMPS my Orks regularly along with every other player in our LGS. So Nids in my oppinion are very viable.

With a new Nid codex just around the corner and a likely slew of releases of new models and such I'd honestly say save your pennies and see how they appear. The rumours are very strong now that they'll be here within a few months (and you've Christmas just around the corner so chances are you'll not have as much hobby money for that month). So I'd say wait and see how they turn out; chances are there will be at least a few models you'll want and the new codex might paint them in a very good light that you enjoy.

If not then you'll have a nice saved up block of money to start a WAAAAAAGH!

Orks and Tyranids are two of my favorite armies in 40K. And they're kind of at the opposite ends of the spectrum,

Orks are maximum silly, and Tyranids are maximum grimdark, so it's kinda where your preference lies. Do you want the horde of nameless gribblies and lumbering monsters? Or do you want the horde of bellowing Mad Max fanatics?

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?
