Because nobody really has a clue what they are, other than a knock-off of a star wars monster.

As the others said, I have no idea what they are. And that's possibly why.

Yeah I've never heard of them either.

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.

I also have no idea who they are, and quite frankly "they seem pretty cool imo" is not exactly a compelling argument.

They're from the RPGs by Fantasy Flight. I don't know the terms of the license, but I doubt GW has any ownership over the characters, locations and events created by FFG for their games.

Giant eight-legged space pirates. They are an incredibly minor faction compared to the others(not unlike Hrud or Tarellians) so I severely doubt they would ever receive their own book. I suppose they could appear as mercs or something along those lines sometime in the future...

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

There are a lot of Minor Factions out there but I doubt the Hrud is one of them.

Quoting from Lexicanum which states its source from Xenology
From the interrogations of a Human slave that served the Hrud, it's known that they are a secretive race of subterranean scavengers who lived in tunnel-cities known as "juunlak"s. These typically are formed near the greatest centres of Human population.

Yeah, I know a lot of people do not like Lexicanum but the information definitely has to come from somewhere for it to be put up there.

I reckon the reason the Hrud are not a faction still is because they do not fill any unique gameplay style. A lot of players treat them as Count As IG.

Rak'Gol on the other hand have so little information that it would not be practical to make a Codex yet. The best I can imagine them with the current information is to use them as Count As Tyranids.

They might be numerous, but that does not mean they have any large presence within the overall setting. While they are mentioned as causing some trouble for the Imperium a few times and taking over a sector, they are still considered little more than a pest compared to the likes of Chaos, Tyranids or Necrons. So they may have taken over a sector, compare that to the thousands of planets the Orks have conquered or the Tyranids have devoured. They may be a big threat on our scale but not on 40k's.

Because GW seems overburdened with the codices they have already.

(And frankly, Slaugth top my list of codices that should be but aren't)

Because most of these other races in the imperium are terribad. The most or best we could accept is a codex filled with mercenary units. But what's the point? The work required to flesh out the Marcs and conditions around who can play with whom..... Not happening. Make them yourself and we them as counts-as dark eldar.

Very few of the background Xenos species exist in numbers that could be called "an army" on the scale of wars that are normally fought in 40K. Some of these Xeno species have less members, in total, than the IG has left-handed cooks.

So they're not developed because it appeals to only a very-niche-market and would not, in a century, make back its cost of production in sales.

As others have said, convert your own models, use another Codex for rules, and simply apply your own names/titles to things.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I'd love to see an interex Codex. I guess IG and Tau allies will do, though.

GW can't give out everything in their arsenal at once right? They need to hold back ideas and come up with new ones to keep us latched so we anticipate what the next new thing is so we stay as customers.

Yeah...it's kinda like that.

lets not forget: the cost of developing the models, tooling the molds, etc..... we won't be seeing any new developments for a long time, just updates to the existing range.
