Hi all,

I convinced my mate to go halves in with me on a Deadzone Pre Release Mega Deal. YAY

I just missed out on it this evening, as it has been pulled due to high demand. SAD FAAAAAACE

So yeah, I hope you're all very happy with your big lovely boxes of awesome... Don't mind me, I just have something in my eye...

Seriously though, thanks to Sarah from Mantic for getting back to me so quickly. I realise they are ridiculously busy at the minute. Even giving bad news they are incredibly nice folks.

SIIIIIGH.

Bad luck on that, a real shame.

I imagine the bundles will be back in February, so it's not like you'll be paying more, but it's certainly a bummer.

Have you looked at any other wargaming online stores? Total Wargamer are pretty good with Mantic stuff, it's only GW they struggle with in my experience (I got the Enforer army box within 3 days of release) and Wayland have it.

Here's a link to the TWG Deadzone page:
http://totalwargamer.co.uk/mantic-games/deadzone.html

and Wayland:
http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/mantic-games/deadzone/deadzone-pre-release-edition-boxed-game/prod_23643.html

You'll need to put the bundles together yourself, but this does allow you to grab more of stuff you want and leave out anything you don't. The price is a little more from Wayland and a tad cheaper from TWG.

Hope that helps.

My heartbreak is that FedEx is apparently making me the last stop on their run to deliver my fething game! It'll likely happen while I'm on the phone with a certain coworker I'm fond of, and I won't get to open it because her or Deadzone...I have to pick her.

In other words...feth FedEx.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

My heartbreak is half a grand on the game and still no shipping notice. I really wish they prioritized shipping by: couriers, then descending order based on how much money you put into the game.

I am the one you warned me of

That didn't even cross my mind - thanks!

Stupid firewall won't let me access many gaming sites from work, so I'll have to check when I'm home in about EIGHT HOURS.

What breaks my heart is that reading all your damn Deadzone threads, I think I have to buy into the game.

So thanks a lot...

They had quite a few in stock when I checked last night, so you should still be ok even with the wait.

I'm not usually one to get caught up in hype, but all this DZ action has really appealed! Plus, my mate and I were looking for a skirmish game to get in to, and this has a play area AND scenery! It's just too perfect.

monders you won't be disappointed. I originally backed Deadzone to get a bunch of Enforcer models and terrain, didn't really care about the game or anything else. Got my KS box last night and now I want to assemble and paint and play as soon as possible.

My advice is be sure to get some extra terrain!

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

I don't fall for hype either normally, but the whole Deadzone phenomenon has really gotten to me. It's too bad the core set doesn't come with the Marauders, but it ain't exactly expensive to buy an extra faction.

So... Who won't get a Christmas gift this year?

Paradigm - thanks again for your TW suggestion. Got the box, Marauders and Rebs for £89, inc postage.

Judgedoug - Excellent, please keep us informed of your progress. We'll go in for more terrain in January, once we've got a few bits painted and games under our belts.

Ha haa we're total suckers my friend! I still have a load of unopened x-wing stuff, two unfinished 40k armies and now DZ en route. Thank the gods for the Christmas break!

Glad you've grabbed some, and by not getting the mercs, you've actually saved a bit. I must admit, there were a couple of the mercs I'm not sold on (Simmonds and possibly Wrath) but the completionist in me insisted I got them.

Glad I could help.

If it helps I backed the kickstarter for $10, tried to up my pledge three times, never received confirmation, emailed and sent messages to Mantic on kickstarter and heard nothing back. :-( So long sweet deals.

And in that same other news - IT'S HERE. And I'm just sat at my desk waiting for the operations manager to eff off in to a meeting so I can sneak out early.

So very happy I drove in to work today.

Finally cracked the box open yesterday! Shame they packed the contents so badly - my back cover of the rule book is all creased and bent. And a goblin gun barrel is bent too.

But mould lines and flash seem to be non existent.

Split the set with my mate, who's painting up the rebs and enforcers, and I'm doing the Orx and Plague. He's much neater than me so this makes sense!

The goblin gun is salvageable, I had it happen too. Put it under scalding hot water, bend it, cold water, bam. It's fixed.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I hear sufficient amounts of water will remove the creasing and bending in the rulebook cover, too

If you were one of the only guys in your area who bought in, hoping to convert a few, or if you're just "the rules guy" for your group, I highly reccomend having the book spiral bound and heavy laminate on the covers. I got that done at a FedEx/Kinko's for about $8 USD, and waiting about half an hour. Now I don't worry about the spine as we muddle through the first couple games and check on how abilities work.
