Thanks, guys

Glad to be back in the game, but I am going to try not to put so much pressure on myself, as I burnt out last time and that resulted in nearly a year of no painting at all (though I was still gaming throughout).

First models, 18 Army of the Dead, with a nice simple paintjob:

Taking my score for 2019 to 18

Next up, finishing off the RAF planes from my Battle of Britain board game.

Nice. I love the Army of the Dead.

Great jump back in to things. Burn out sucks , we should abolish it with fire.

A bit of finishing off:

12 1/300 planes from the Battle of Britain board game, just needed the roundels doing and a bit of tidying up. Sorry for the poor pic:

Taking me to a score of 30, not bad for a week

Ouch

Another productive few days...

I got the King of the Dead, a banner bearer and 3 Riders of the Dead done.

With the king I tried picking out his crown in gold before the wash to make him stand out - The end result is "okay".

And also managed to get the 7 Luftwaffe planes for BoB finished off - All those crosses were a bit of a pain

So my score for the year is now a flattering 42

Got some terrain underway:

Various foam shapes that will make up parts of the terrain for the Moria scenarios in the LOTR Journey books, plus Mantic walls.

The Mantic walls were a bit prone to bending, and didn't stand up all that well on their own, so I straightened them and glued onto plasticard bases.

I have run out of black spray paint for undercoating, so stalled on these for now.

Thanks, hoping to get some good looking tables when I finally get going on playing through the scenarios

Today's LOTR offering is Gimli, son of Gloin - With and without Elven Cloak:

Next up will be Legolas, to complete the Fellowship!

Do you have a cold?

No pics to show, but I got my Mantic walls sprayed black in between rain showers, so some quick drybrushing should get them done.

Legolas is also done bar the basing.

Legolas is done!

And one final Gimli as well

Plus all the Mantic walls are finished:

2019's count is now a healthy 60!

I am now working on finishing off my HH Imperial Fist Breacher squad, and a couple of random bits of 40k terrain.

Some random terrain that has been hanging around waiting for paint for ages...

Walls made of left-over GW building bits:

Mantic battlezone ruins:

66 painted this year now. Heresy Imperial Fists are getting there, but are quite fiddly.

You may only be at 66 for the year (not a jab at all), but your quality on pieces puts me to shame.
Also your group shot of Legolas is great. Just reminded me of this

Not seen that before, it's awesome

Still slogging away at Imperial Fists, should have first 5 done soon.

Been sidetracked by also working on Balin's tomb scenery - Terrain is always tempting to work on as it doesn't take such concentration, just flail a big drybrush around

Got the first 5 Breachers done:

Can't find the transfers to finish the others at the moment, they are in a box in the loft, so slight delay on those

Balin's tomb scenery nearly done, and started a few Moria Goblins too!

Cheers Bit nerve-wracking going over essentially finished figures adding the damaged parts...

Just 1 thing to show today, a sign-post that was mostly done along with the Mantic walls but got overlooked for basing:

Yeah I always chicken out on weathering as well. Good job on those guys though, I think yellow in particular always benefits from a bit of scuffing.

Thanks! Worth it in the end, I guess

Today I have the plastic Balin's Tomb scenery to show. Still working on the various foam bits to make the side walls, hope to have those done this week.

Taking my yearly tally to 84!

Also have the next 5 Heresy imperial fists very nearly done, and also 8 Moria goblins to invade the tomb above

Cheers, chaps!

Here to ruin the good time of anyone wanting to relax and enjoy the scenery are the first 8 Moria goblins!

I wasn't sure whether to give them grey bases or not - In the end I went with matching all the rest of my LOTR stuff, as the Fellowship they will be fighting are on brown anyway...

I got the other 5 Breachers done!

At this rate I might be able to give my mate a game of 30k by 2021

My 2019 score is now 97, but I have now finished all the foam bits for Moria which will take me well over 100, pics to follow.

Next up, an Ork Dakkajet...

They look great .

The double axes are a symbol of one of the chapters in a Forgeworld space marine painting guide I have. I forget the names it (the chapter and the book old age ), I wonder if they are a Imperial Fist founding chapter . Would be cool even if accidental.

Oh and having a 30K army done anytime before 30K is an accomplishment

Lovely job on those goblns. The minis themselves have quite soft detail (though I love the design) and it takes a careful job to get the best out of them.
