It was a limited run bundle so hopefully more will show up.

I don't know about other regions but that bundle (Witch Aelf kit + Cauldron of Blood kit for a discount) still very much exists on the Australian Games Workshop website and is available, I believe some stores even carry it on the shelves or they were up to as recently as a month or two ago.

I should clarify a bit:

When I say "limited run", it doesn't mean that there's a specific timeframe for the bundles to exist. They don't usually get rid of those bundles just because the time has "run out" on them. They set a stock level on them and then keep them until the stock sells through.

It's entirely possible they've changed their minds on it being a limited run though. We'll have to wait and see if it comes back in after going No Longer Available.

You mean this one? https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Daughters-of-Khaine-Blood-Coven

It's never been out of stock as far as I'm aware and element is due to get some new ones in on the 05/02/18

That's correct. That's why I said that when/if it finally does go out of stock/NLA--we'll have to watch out to see if it's going to become a regular stock item or what.

If you want to Daughters of Khaine, chances are Witch Aelves, Warlocks and Sisters of Slaughter will remain the only Battleline choices, so get those Blood Covens ASAP if you don't want to risk them going OOS. If I end up doing Shadow Aelves, I plan on getting at least three of those boxes.

Minor point of contention...

It looks like these aren't our Shadow Aelves. No Malerion means it's not his Shadowkin!

Sweet hell's teeth, gorgons everywhere O_O

I'll see how long I can last, have a lot on my plate this year, and I guess there are two things on my wallet's side:

1) AOS is probably the only place I'm really going to use an army of snake chicks, especially one that transmogrifies into an enormous snake monster. I can't think of a great KOW port right now (though Twilight Kin is being reworked and I'm pretty great at finding rules for minis).

2) Even if I wanted to play AOS again, I agree that the gorgons are unlikely to be battleline units, meaning I have to dilute things with a few squads of $$$ infantry / ponies. They're nice and all, but not snake ladies, and hella expensive.

BUT ANYWAY: EXCITE

Indeed, there was no sign of the mistweaver or the shard. I imagine that they will be part of the next group of Aelves that GW said was coming.

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Yep. Totally fielding these ladies as the Slaanesh cult in my Chaos army. I'm sure that'll go against GW's fluff, but in my mind, they're heretical Slaanesh worshippers.

Speaking of Slaanesh, one of the hint images in 2017 looked like a giant snake body. People thought that was a reference to Fulgrim. Looks to me like it was Morathi instead.

Considering Morathi basically invented Slaanesh worship, it's really not too far off the mark.

It was just the normal gorgon elves I’m pretty sure.

Notice that I said "If I end up doing Shadow Aelves" implying I'd do both armies

Malerion's Shadow Aelves are the fish/Cthulu aelves based on what I know and have read, though I'd imagine the two will complement each other as the two main "Ulgu" Aelf armies, we'll see what Morathi's expanded lore is like.

That or snake Morathi definitely look to be the culprits either way.

Does anyone know if the current witch alves kit comes with round or square bases? The box with the cauldron supplies round ones, but it's unclear what's in the mono box (the art pictures square bases).

As far as I know, they haven't been reboxed so they'd be squares.

I’m assuming they’ll be reboxed with this release, probably with a price drop (where you’ll bet more models but it’ll be cheaper than buying 2 lots at the current price).

You'd imagine they are in for a reboxing... hopefully discounted from their current crazy price like other reboxings have had

I mean, you'd imagine they would have done that with Tree-Revenants and Vulkite Berzerkers...but they didn't.

Oh my. What a nice looking release. If they're as bloody expensive as witch elves though, yikes.

Ps: Funny that terrible gorgon monsters have some THE best female faces GW has done (at least going by those shots).

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Ok, thanks guys. I suppose I'll buy the box with the witches + the cauldron, and wait for the proper release before getting more troops. The box + round bases comes at 4,9€/mini, that's pretty steep for regular infantry…

You've lost me. They reboxed old WHFB units to bigger but discounted boxes. What do these two AoS releases have to do with that?

To be fair they’ve done it with Stormcast too, but they did it when they got a new book (which Sylvaneth and Fyreslayers haven’t).

Then I'd bring your attention to Wild Riders, Glade Guard, and Eternal Guard.

All were reboxed to include the round/oval bases but have not had their numbers increased.

They did it with Stormcast, Seraphon, Ogres, and a few others. Not all of them have coincided with book releases either. Just the majority of them.

I’m willing to put money on them doing it for the witch elves, regardless. They’re very expensive.

I really hate that they keep doing this. Mounted and winged vampire lords should be separate warscrolls or have separate point costs (which I presume that they don't.) It is annoying that if you like to model your characters on foot, you're just intentionally gimping yourself.

As a general rule, if the box is the updated white box with the AoS logo, it'll have round bases. The older WHFB boxes will have squares. That's the best way to know if a kit has squares or rounds.

What size base are the Medusa on? Is that 32mm round? If so, and comparing them to the Witch Aelves next to them, they're not overly large. So maybe 5 to a box? Guessing around £30?

The ones on the cauldron fit perfectly on a Stormcast base, so I would go with 50 mm, but the archer ones might use smaller 32 mm bases, or, depending on the pose, elongated ones like those used for cavalry.

Stormcast are on 40mm, I believe.
