This is my first game vs the new tyranid book in a 1500 point game. When the game started I thought it would be an easy victory but as it turns out the internet was wrong about the tyranids
Was a good report/read, thanks! Though your eldar list wasn't really the most competitive so it's still kind of sad the nids lost oh well.
Prime should have at least had toxin sacs but meh. How did the in player like Gavin the crones? I think they are too fraile for what they do and I actually like the gargoyles for trying to force a ton of blind checks.
Jesus Christ changed my life, He can do the same for you!
Its sad that a new unit like the crone just isnt as effective as tried and true flyrant w/ devourers getting rear armor hits
which is a little easier now that his BS went up by 1
I have considered letting a crone just start in on of those venomthrope blobs - acting as a jump monster -and just wait for enemy flyers to hit the board
then see if i capitalize on their S:8 vector strike...still a lot of "ifs" there though
I really liked this report. The only problem was that even though it was a close match the Tyranids had to struggle very hard to gain any ground. Also the mawlocs just seemed to not be reliable.
Argel Tal and Cyrene: Still a better love story than Twilight
Great report! It was sad to see the Mawlocs scatter every time and not use it's full potential. The Crones are a great unit and can do a lot of things. They did knock out the Crimson Hunter fairly easily which is their designed purpose.
Thing is they are similar points to a crimson hunter and it took two to destroy it. If it had been 1 on 1 the hunter would most likely have won.
Don't get me wrong I like the crone but I feel its anti air abilities are lack luster and has a better role charging weaker units. As a secondary role maybe taking a shot or two at flyers rather than the dedicated anti air in your force.
Well he didn't get a chance to use it properly. If you vector strike first and fire the tentaclids into the rear armor it is very easily a 1 on 1 matchup. Plus he can drop down and smash whatever needs to be smashed or just fly off the board if you can make it.
