If I manage to puppet master a riptide with an adjoined buffmander does the riptide fire using the buffmander's abilities?
Command and Control Node says it takes effect if the bearing model does not fire during "the shooting phase" since the commander didn't shoot during my shooting phase, and it is indeed "the shooting phase", I think this would work, right? The same logic applies to the multi-spectrum sensor suite. Am I missing something, or could this actually happen?

Awesome, nice little gem there. I hope I can pull this off in a game sometime.

I disagree. Puppet Master lets you fire as if it were your model - the Buffmander doesn't buff your models, just his.

Agreed. The model with the signature systems has to not shoot during the shooting phase, ie you forgo your shooting attack in order to provide the buffs. As puppet master does not make the Buffmander *your* model, the buffs would not apply because you do not have permission to make the model act as your own.
This is why you puppet master a riptide that has Psychic Powers on it, as those powers *which are affecting the Riptide model, which you do have permission to control per Puppet Master* would affect it.

An interesting one is that puppet master being a focused witchfire, you could end up "puppetting" the buffmander, to no benefit ...

Two mistakes here.
1) Nowhere in the description for the buffing wargear does it state it only affects friendly models. It affects all the models in his unit. As puppet master does not remove its target from its unit, they would still get the buffs.
2) You are implying that letting a model fire as if it were your model makes it your model. It does not. Firing "as if it were your own model" only affects which units you can target. Otherwise you'd have to shoot your own units.
Edited for spelling.

PM only changes the status of the model for the purposes of making a shooting attack, nothing else. It cannot target his own unit, which Buffmander is part of. Buffmander gives buffs to the unit if it did not fire.
This is not HIWPI, but it is RAW.

Puppet Master is a focused witch fire. So you have to choose a single model to effect. So why the hell would you puppet mast a buffmander.
How about puppet master the riptide to shoot at buffmander haha

Unless you roll a 6 or higher on your psychic test. Then a random model is puppet mastered.

You also cannot shoot the model's own unit with Puppet Master
