I'm trying to figure out how to make the rear ramps on the Chimera APC open/close. I have 6 Chimeras I'm starting to work on and would love some ideas on this.

So far the only solution I can think of is running a pin through the 'tabs' where the Chimera doors get situated.

I've used tiny nuts & bolts - one for each side.
Try looking in a small independent hardware store that also sell electronics components.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

get some brass rods, and some brass sheet. You'll need to make hinges. the plate will need to go on the vehicle, and then the brass rod will need to be bent into rectangular U's, with the brass slid through. I'm not sure how to secure the plating to the tank though.

It already has hinges. All you need to do is drill out the cross piece at the bottom of the hatch so they go all the way through then drill corresponding holes it the hinge areas on the chassis.
Then place a rod through your holes and put a spot of glue on the outside of the hinge (keep the glue out of the inner part!)

Please bear in mind that the Chimeras are the "old" style Chimeras, which have a bit of a difference in the way the doors are hinged.

I think Bubbers has the right idea though.

Note that I did this on the old style Chimera & don't know what the difference is with the new one. Thanks for the vote of confidence though Kanluwen!

The new one actually has a "peg" on the ends of the bit at the bottom for the doors, with a small hole in the middle of the things that would hold the doors in place on the old one.

I've got 6 of the old and 1 of the new, with interior detailing kits for all of the old ones...so opening doors is kind of a necessity.

Wasn't the chassis of an awkward size for the use of nuts though?
