Just played my first game. Fair to say I loved it. Just played the quick start rules. Found them to be simple and elegant. Looking forward to trying the full ruleset. Glad I took the interwebs advice and picked up a couple of starter sets.

Yes, great fun, easy to pick up and quite tactical too.

Adding just a couple of the other fighter types adds a surprising amount of depth.

After too many glasses of wine last night, I ordered the falcon, slave 1, TIE advanced and another x wing.

Yes, this is why I don't drink Plus, money not spent alcohol can be spent on more toys.

Alcohol is a national sport in Scotland. Swings and roundabouts. I tend to be far too sensible with money when I'm sober. Sometimes you have to treat yourself though huh?

I made my first mat. It's in the P&M tutorial section, but thought it might be worth a link here.

Genuinely impressed with the sewing

My wife wouldn't let me near her sewing machine

Ha ha. I didn't give mine a choice. She wasn't too happy about it, but she soon realised that it was only to sew four straight lines. How bad could it be?!

You're gonna trip out when you start playing with Actions in the full rules. It's such a huge difference, it's almost like playing an entirely different game.

Totally agree with you on the simple and elegant thing. It's what got me into the game so deep. Looking at some of the Wave 4 cards showing up in that FFG article, I'm still surprised at the strategy they've wrung out of this simple little ruleset. Good stuff, yo!
