Spineguant.  5 points.
32 x 6 choices = 192 Spine Gaunts
960 points

Warriors for synapse. Maybe 5 minimized squads, Rending claws and scytals
2-3 Gunfexes for antitank.
Raveners or Gargoyles for fast.

Can this actually work? Or would it die horribly.
That is a lot to bring down, but it's only punch is lots and lots of mediocre attacks.

Just a weird thought in my head of the anti-zilla list.

192 twin linked mediocre attacks plus assaults is nothing to sneeze at. The main thing is you have to protect your synapse creatures and yet keep them in synapse range at all times. Also you don't want a single wraithlord or dreadnaught tying up 32 models in hth that they can never win. Since your warriors will be used for synapse, this makes things difficult as they might have a hard time helping out with combat while staying in cover. A Lictor or two might help out a lot, or perhaps a unit or two of Genestealers. Zoanthropes with warp blast are also a good choice as they are synapse creatures, can support the unit from the rear, and are more than capable of bringing down tough models that your gaunts can't hurt.

Remember, Zoanthropes are only synapse if you buy it for them.

Raveners can work wonders if you take them with rending claws.

It would be cool to get some critters with feeder tendrils in there, so all of the gaunts within range are hitting on 3+. Maybe lictors or a broodlord.

If they have enough wraithlords to tie up your spine gaunts, that means they most likely didn't have any tanks, so I guess you had better put those gun fexes to work shooting at the wraithlords. . .

if i were to do nids i wouldn't use a zilla list either. personally i like warriors...lots and lots of maxed warriors-2 HQ squads with leaping, carapice armour, rending claws, scything talons and al those upgrades that increase initiative and WS

3 squads of elites with venom cannon and a bunch of deathspitters(the 18" assalt guns IIRC), carapice armour, leaping,  scything talons  and those upgrades that increase thier BS

thats 40 models in 5  8man squads that are fearless,  have 2 wounds and cannot be auto killed.

then throw in some ripper swarms for your compulsary troops and walla your instand anti-zilla force that costs less to buy and is pretty resiliant while packing a punch.

You'd use your HQ slots on maxed out warrior squads. Interesting. I just don't see it doing enough damage for what it costs, especially when heavy bolters wound them on 4s and ignore their save.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

Yes it can work. In fact, its a standard nid tactic. 120 gaunts to tie the enemy up, then some rending warriors/raveners/stealers to add punch. If the enemy is engaged in combat with the gaunts, or has his line of sight blocked by gaunt combats, he can't shoot the rending units. The gaunts die so that the rending units don't have to. Fast skimmers are the obvious countermeasure, but you've got gunfexes/tyrants to deal with skimmers. The only reason we don't see this tactic being used more often are the practical difficulties associated with buying/painting/setting up/moving 120+ models...

Nid warriors are ok, ish. Would you pay 40 points for two space marine scouts? Probably not, but thats what nid warriors are, sort of. Stealers and Raveners are better value, but you need the synapse. 2-3 units of 3 leaping, rending, carapaced warriors is probably sufficient. I can't see any reason to use warriors with guns. Add a Flyrant, and perhaps a walking Tyrant with guards, and the enemy will have difficulty killing all your synapse in a decapitation strike.

As for wraithlords, well T8/3+ doesn't help much against rending... 6 stealers charging = 3 autowounds = 1 dead wraithlord. All you've gotta do is tie up enough enemy units to get the stealers there alive. Thats what the gaunts and venom cannons are for.
