Seize the Initiative is the official podcast of the Golden Throne GT. Our goal is to portray the game in a primarily positive light and discuss new developments in a constructive way. We'll put a lot of our focus on becoming comfortable with competitive play, including in-depth strategy discussions and explanations about remaining competitive regardless of your choice of codex.

Episode One of the Seize the Initiative podcast introduces listeners to our three hosts: Rob, Alex and Paul. We discuss our history as it pertains to Warhammer 40,000, including which armies we generally field and how long we’ve been involved in the game. The Seize the Initiative mission statement is also discussed both in abstract terms and in an explanation about what subjects the show will cover in order to stay true to that mission statement.

We also discuss our current hobby projects during our regular workbench visit and report on games we’ve played recently, including a miniature battle report from Rob’s recent visit to Endgame Oakland for a Death Worlds tournament run by tastytaste of Blood of Kittens.

The bulk of the episode is spent discussing the recent wave of Games Workshop’s digital releases. We explain what sort of content those releases include, the general reaction to them in the community and where we think these new products fit into the game’s existing ecosystem. With everything from Lords of War to 40k approved superheavies to recyclable Tyranids, there’s a whole lot of content covered in this first episode!

Episode 1 is now available through our website and should be up on iTunes shortly!
