So we all know that pre-used kits from ebay, or other used kit really, runs the risk of being poorly painted/constructed, so what are the worst you have ever gotten/seen?

Hmmm....
That would have to be the Nightrunners for my Skaven army. Arms glued on backwards, the wrong way round too much glue etc. The previous owner had also started painting them without undercoat......

onversly i did get a unit of 30 Clanrats, the old monopose ones painted to an exceptional standard, so not all trades are bad.

Looking at this and trying to figure how the whole thing doesn't collapse is making my brain hurt.

Every model I buy off ebay either smells like pot or still has fecal matter attached to it from the cat that peed on it.

Bad Karma Bunkerbob?

hm worst "kit" was an entire Plastic Space Marine army, that was mediocre painted and I paintstripped them.
Well.. the previous owner used white glue for assembly of them all, so I had a 1500 points space marine army.. in bits, because the glue dissolved along with the paints

Fow: 5000 Points+ US Army
40K: 4000 Points+
And many more smaller forces in the cabinet...

That actually sounds pretty awesome. Most of the stuff I get has been stuck with poly cement, which makes disassembley and restoration all the more difficult. I'd love it if it just come apart in the paint stripper... Though I admit if I wasn't expecting that to happen, it might be a bit of nightmare straining all the bits out.

Yeah I wasn't expecting that and nearly lost some bits when I emptied the paintstripping container and heard "clickedyclickclack" from the sink

But I have to admit, afterwards I was really happy

I believe you should dunk any miniature you get used directly into a nice bucket of Simple Green overnight

A friend bought a "Salvage lot" of mixed SM and CSM stuff. It was dozens of infantry and more than a few rhino chassis vehicles. I got one of the worst rhinos off him, and I swear it was assembled with elmers glue. I had to totally deconstruct it by prying and cutting the glue and scraped for two days getting it all out of all the holes and nooks and crannies. In the end, surprisingly, it went back together quite straight and snug, and looks pretty good these days as a GK rhino.

This thread contains quite a few "interesting" ebay finds.

Working in a GW many years ago, helping with lots of 'build a miniature' type activity days, you would be amazed at how many ways it is possible to incorrectly put one of those things together

Yes that Landspeeder is pretty terrible, but that person is going to improve a lot more than the person who doesn't bother to field a painted army

The worst I get are usually caked with superglue that then needs to be chipped out of crevices. When I get plastic kits off eBay, I try to always go for new on sprue. Much easier on the assembly that way.
