Hey I'm making some of my own powerklaws and 'each armour, and was wondering what size rod I should use for the rivets. Please help!

For something that small, you might want to use microbeads from the inside of a water filter.

If you go the sliced rod route, I wouldn't use anything thicker than 1mm diameter. The smallest diameter rod I have (or punch that I can use on sheet) is 1/16" (roughly 1.6mm), which would completely dominate something the size of a powerklaw. Would work for the central pivot, perhaps, but you'd have to scale the thing up to a DCCW to fit many more than that.

If you can buy or harvest micro-/water filter beads, I'd also suggest using them, instead. They're still reasonably chunky (i.e. orky) on troop-scale models, but you'll have a much easier time squeezing them in where you want them. Look more like "proper" rivets (domed head) than sliced or punched disks, too, IMHO.

in addition to the innards of the filters, glass beads come in pretty small sizes and work well for dome headed rivets. The .5mm aren't too huge on infantry either.
