Hi Guys,

I just moved from the Houston area back home to the West Coast (California).
Originally I am from Los Angeles and not familiar at all with my new home up north in the Bay Area (Hayward).

So I am wondering if you guys can help direct me to a local game store that I can play 40k at.

Any ideas?

I have looked up the closest GW store and I will visit it soon but I was curious if there were other places to play 40k in the area.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Bay Area!

Endgame in Oakland:

http://www.endgameoakland.com/

They have an upcoming 40K campaign, Inquisition War! that will be starting in May:

Game Kastle in Fremont:

http://www.gamekastle.com/index.php?k=3&u=1

Then there's the local Games Workshop in Union City:

But the hours are irregular, stuff are over-priced compared to other game stores and the gaming tables seem a bit small.

Good luck!

Where in the Bay Area are you?

If North Bay, then Gamescape North in San Rafael does WH40K every Tuesday night. Fundamonium in Petaluma does weekly WH40K (just don't know what days).

If East Bay, Endgame was already mentioned. Frontline Games is located in Martinez.

I used to live in the Bay area until last year, the Top GW store closed a little over a year ago (Still Miss playing at Alamo ), and they have closed 4 GWs in the last 5 years, other than the GW at Union Landing, There is House o Games in Danville www.h-o-games.com, I know a couple of the owners there and most of the players. Good people. or Game Kastle in Fremont www.h-o-games.com good friends with one of the managers, and a number of the people that play there as well. The is also End Game in Oakland, I never played there, but went to the store often for stuff. Those would be my recommendations for stores somewhat close to you.

BTW, you might also be interested in the following:

Kublacon takes place Memorial Day in Burlingame. One of the guys from my LGS (Gamescape North) is running a WH40K tourney. Not sure what the point value is.

Golden Throne Grand Tournament | August 1-3, 2014, will take place in Pleasanton I believe

Bay Area Open (TBD) will take up the road in Martinez

The Quake City Rumble (QCR) Warhammer Tournament will be held July 18th - July 20th at Fort Mason in SF. I believe this is fantasy only, but it's a great venue and one of the larger WHFB tourneys.

House of Games and Game Kastle are both very good stores. GK in particular has a very large selection of minis, terrain, paints, even painting/modeling classes. Great store. Endgame has the lowest selection of minis (tons of board games, though); however, it has easily the best play-area of any store in the East Bay.
