Hiya folks, I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone here had any of the stats behind an Ordinatus Engine, such as the one described in Iron Hands. I am actually planning on constructing one, or something similar to one. I believe that it will most likely have a giant lascannon as the primary weapon, with lots of smaller las turrets to provide suppression fire. I will use the generators that Forgeworld makes, the ones towed by the Trojans, to add a little bit of extra specialness. So, care to lend me a hand?

You want to make it 40k or epic sized?

I used to have that White Dwarf that detailed those things. Think bigger than super-heavy big, think titan-sized big. It was like a train of banblade size tanks with one large weapon system on a sort of superstructure. This is gonna be quite a project.

I was planning 40k, which means it would be a massive undertaking, easily a year or two in the making. I have a couple thousand to spend on this puppy, so I do want to make it as detailed as possible. Besides, it'd be great at a Games Day. Everyone would drool over it (quite literally) and if it participated in the tournaments (if it is/were legal) it's raise hell. So, any specs out there? Or a rough idea? By the way, can someone here try and help me (When I get it built) with the rules and stats for it?

You, Sir, are insane. But, then, so is Greydeath:

For the stats, how about a Kills Everything special rule?

Primary weapon is a nova cannon, usually only seen in BFG!
You may also want yo think of it as a mobile fortress with areas set out for different thongs, e.g. a section dedicated to housing the generators. You'd also want to make a fairly large command area for the techpriests.
Try looking at pictures of NASA's shuttle transport vechicle for inspiration.

You could try and work out some stats for 40K by comparing their Epic stats from this site with that of known 40K superheavies. Also, for inspiration, take a look at these: Tagebaubagger

Well, I was planning on making it more tank like than like the Armageddon Ordinatus described in the link you gave me, EDSK. Have any of you guys read Hell's Faire by John Ringo? I imagine an ordinatus to be much like a SheVa. Only with defensive turrets. And I was thinking I should use some of Forgeworld's turrets, but which ones? Help me out here. By the way, I am insane. Just thought you might like to know. Cheerio!

From When the Devil Dances:
Height: 170 ft. ground to top of turret
Treads: four
Height of One Tread: 27 ft.
Width of One Tread: 150 ft.
Weight of One Tread: 37 tons
Total Vehicle Width: 385 ft.
Total Vehicle Length: 468 ft.
Gun Length: 200 ft (includes barrel and breach)
Gun Bore: 16 inches
Round Weight: 16 tons (projectile, cartridge and propellant)
Cartridge Length: 14.7 ft.
Cartridge Diameter: 27 in.
Reactors: 4 Johannes/Cummings pebble-bed uranium/helium
Drive Motors: 48
Total Power: 12,000 hp.
Unloaded Weight: 7,000 tons (approx)

Let's see...40k is roughly 1/60 but the vehicles are a slightly smaller scale, say 1/72...so, that would make Bun-Bun...*tap*...*tap*...6½ feet long!?! Dude, that's not a tank ? that's a gaming table!

I am ignorant of its stats, but the Imperial Leviathan from Epic looks like it might be a good match for your Ordinatus Engine:

Appearance-wise, I take it you're going for something like a four-tracked Stormsword?

Construct I hate to break it to you man, but 40k is more along the lines of 135 - 1/48 scale, with tanks being around 1/35.
Making your behemoth listed there (what's it from?) about 13.37 feet long by 11 feet wide!

Well, heads are 1/35, limbs are 1/48 and heights are 1/60...so take your pick!

For accessories I agree that figures usually require 1/48 and vehicles usually require 1/35 (which is conveniently the most popular scale for military vehicles).

Those stats are for Bun-Bun the SheVa; When the Devil Dances is the prequel to Hell's Faire.

Also, concerning advice, you could try to contact Barpharanges who can be found here from time to time or on the Bolter&Chainsword forums. If I´m not mistaken, he build this:

Yes, it is very, very orky, but in a Soviet kinda way. And Construct, I was planning on dividing the tank's tracks into 4 sponsons ( preferrably I'll make the sponsons detachable for easier transport) much like how you described. And the turret will probably have to be detachable for transport reasons too. I also was planning on giving the turret a somewhat difficult to describe elevation mechanism for the cannon. I'll whip up an image in Paint and post it later. And I do intend on painting on it, somewhere, a picture of Bun-bun the homicidal, switchblade wielding mini lop rabbit. Just for kicks.

no matter how nice it looks,i find this a full, pointless waste of money and time.If you're going to waste money on 10 Landraider to do this,at least make it a titan or something actually useful in-game.Or a hover-landraider thing.

This aside, where can i get a big rolling plasma cannon like that?

It is a full, pointless waste of money and time, but it's my full, pointless waste of my money and time. I'm sitting on 2,000 bucks and all my other armies are complete. What else am I going to do? And I think that although 10 Landraiders would work, the Baneblade tracks will A) look much better, B) are wider and bigger, and C) will make the engine look much better overall. Each sponson of the engine will probably have at least a quadruple layer of Baneblade tracks ( four tracks side by side). This is supposed to be a GIGANTIC warmachine, and it can only be described as a titan in my opinion. I can just see it now, a section of tank shock roughly 5 1/2 feet long... mmmmm... so much for entrenchment...

I wasnt talking about you man.Calm down.

So are you going to order 4 actualy Banes to cut up or are you scratching the whole monster?

What ever you do,go for Bun-Bun.We love him.

I wants to see it soon! Good luck

I think it'd be easier to scratch build everything except for the defensive turrets and the tracks. There is no question that the chassis will have to be scratch built, it's just too large to do otherwise. Any other suggestions? This probably won't be done for a year or two, because I want to do a few smaller scale models first. So, feel free to give me any ideas you think would be cool. It's still in the conceptual stage.
