so after reading a bunch of reviews on theory of the game, i was wondering how many of you have actually played the game and what your thoughts are on it?
care to share some war stories?

Played for about 6hrs in a quest chain and the experience was enjoyable. After a few Hero cycles we got the hang of it and all was more or less smooth. The rule book does need a reorg on listing rules as there was plenty of flipping through pages. Several terms need clarification also. It wasn't as bad as it is being portrayed as an unplayable game until rules rewrite it published. I'm looking forward to the next session to continue on with the quest.

The book is not an obstacle,... The game play is really great. Make sure you download at least the card reference document from their site,... This is really the only thing that we needed to go to for questions.

The card interactions are where the heart of the game is,... And it's quite enjoyable. Cool abilities, neat items,... And just like they said in the lead up,... You get to do epic stuff,.... It's not like other games where you flip a tile and engage one or two baddies,..... Taking on 30 plus guys with only three or four would seem to be madness,.... The only thing crazier,.... Is actually surviving that!!!!!

Loads of fun,.... And a rewrite on the RB is also on the way for those concerned about it.

Just the base game and card sleeves really,.. All the other goodies are on the way from China,... Supposed to get to Indiana later this month.

They will ship out full international orders, and then come back for wave two shipments to domestic backers. I'm guessing the beginning of June for most folks.

Except the rulebook is completely missing what happens when you clear a tile and when rewards for the tile get doled out.

Also, almost all the 4x6 traps have too low a chance of successful disarm/avoid and need a rewrite. 6x6 traps are fine.

there are some interesting differences in traps based on how many people are playing,.... like the boulder trap,...... easy to out run with two players,.... almost impossible with 5.

I think that it really is a puzzle that you have to figure out when you get there,..... based on how the thing works, how do we tackle it,...

If you choose to disarm the trap with five people, chances are that you can do it pretty easily if everyone is trying to,.....

If you only have two and both choose to run,... that is pretty easy,....

If you have three, and one chooses to run and two try to disarm,.......... now that might be a problem!

I think of it a little more as an abstract problem,.... vs. thinking that realistically 5 people should be able to out run it just as easily.......

So will Internationals/Wave 2 people get a reprinted/fixed rulebook? I've heard rumblings to that effect, but nothing firm from them.

They said that they are working on additions to the wave 2 shipments (that says to me hard printed copies). It does not sound to me like it will be a full replacement rule book,..... I'll find the quote:

I don't think it needs a rulebook reprint as much as it simply needs the guides from the website printed and added tot he rulebook. The PDFs on the website solved most of the issues we had.

I don't think they will have a rulebook reprint by this KS end.

The issue is that they seem to have forgotten that the Darkness Meter will increase by 2 per Hero Cycle naturally (1 automatically, players have to spend 1 minimum to avoid loitering). So every 4x6 trap has a 3 hero cycle limit to complete. Realistically no one should move onto a 4x6 tile without Blink/Tumble in hand and shouldn't place a hunting pack unless they have Tears of Orion/Blood of Gaia.

Someone on the forums did the math and a 2 hero team only has a 10% chance of beating the tile in the demo setup.
