Just returned off a deployment and felt like starting a new army. My wife who is the best wife ever, sent me the space marine codex when it came out. I like the fluff of the iron hands. Maybe because I'm a welder by trade and what not. Any way, developed a fluffy list, acquired kits through trades and bought stuff too. Worst part, all my paint I had prior to deployment was junk by the time I got back, so paint was an added expense I wasn't planning on.

Any way, if you look around you will see my list for this army. Master off the forge, tech marine with a couple of survivors, and thunder fire cannon give me enough tech marines for the fluff. Needing alot of the tech marine shoulder pads (come in vehicle kits, as a gear on it) so if you have extras PM me about them.

So, here are pics to start.

Going with a different paint scheme. Just want some color to the all blak/silver look. Currently waiting on the upgrade kit to come in. Need those bionic parts to do the tactical/devestator squads.

More work today. Assembly of the storm raven almost complete. Just to finish the turret and then some dry brushing and highlights, paint touch up.

Started the master of the forge. The axe was badly mishandled, but not running him with one, so I have to kit bash a new arm. Also starts the assault terminator.

Terminator squad done.
master of the forge done.
servitors w/ heavy bolster x2 done.
storm raven done.

500-600 points of 1850 done. I did pick up a knight titan today, so my list is going to change. I have most of the stuff for my list, but, still need to get a thunder fire cannon. Waiting on my iron hands upgrade kits too. Those have been slow on the order.

Few things finished now.

1. Master of the forge
2. Servitors w/ heavy bolster x2
3. Storm raven
4. Storm talon
5. Assault terminator squad
6. Imperial knight!!!!! (Was never planning on this, but, such a nice model)

All of that is painted and finished. Maybe some detail work.

On the table has been the devestator squad. Las cannon x4. Just finished tactical squad #1. The iron hand upgrade sprues just arrived, I already need more. Also, each sergeant will have some sort of servo arm on his back pack. Enjoy the pictures.

Different take in the iron hands with the gree, but I'm down with that . Might I suggest a few things to help out the tech side of the army?

Selection of servo arms that are really poseable. They have lots of other great bits on the site as well. He's also a dakkadakka member and contributes in news and rumors and occasionally on a blog here.

Exo-lord arms are perfect size to fit marines . I have used some on my models when I was building servo skull marines .

If you don't mind me asking.
Where were you deployed? What branch of service? And thanks for your service

Army, and Afghanistan.

I went with the green just to make them stand apart from others. I always liked the look of dark angels, but, not the rules.

Cool, I was half wondering if you missed the army olive drab or you were painting them in fatigue colors as a homage to your unit or something. I haven't looked at the new clan raakun book, have you considered it as an option for your army?

Yes, I am using the raakun book. I use the Gorgons chain with the MotF. Keeps him around longer.

Devestator squad 90% done. I hate painting infantry, have alot of guardsmen done over the years, just rather paint tanks. Anyway. Here are some pics. Dreadnaught in progress.

Very nice work on the devastators. The sgt helmet looks good with the red color you chose. Also liking the contrast of the white guns with the green armor.

You've inspired me to get back to my cybernetic marine army. They are all servo skulls who connect into modified space marine armor suits. I just haven't decided if they will be military police (a la super troopers movie) or just space marines that have gone too far with bionic upgrades.
