I didn't get any pictures this time, but it was a great, close battle until the end.

I fielded...

1x Chaos Lord
1x Chosen (6 members)
1x Possessed (5 members)
1x Bike Squad (3 members)
1x Helbrute
2x Cultist Squad (10 members each)

1x Daemon Prince
2x Bloodletter Squad (10 members each)

He fielded, if I remember correctly...

1x Chaos Lord
1x Sorcerer
1x Rhino
2x Bike Squad (3 members each)
1x Warp Talons (5 members)
2x Cultist Squad (10 members each)
2x Chaos Marines (10 members each)

I'm fuzzy on the details of his army, but that's not unusual. He had all of his guys under the Mark of Nurgle, mine were under the Mark of Khorne. Unfortunately I lost, with my Daemon Prince and three cultists being my only surviving members before his final sweep. One thing I learned is to read up on all the special rules of my army. I forgot to roll on the Warp Storm table, I forgot about the Smash rule of my Daemon Prince, and I thought my Prince had to challenge every time he went into assault, but in reality that's only if there is a character or leader model in the unit. Can anybody answer me this, does that mean that in the first round of any assault with my Daemon Prince, he can only attack one enemy (assuming the challenge is accepted)? This just seems rather restrictive, considering how powerful he is in assault.

Anyway, hopefully I will get better dice rolls in my next battle, as the only luck I had was consistently rolling sixes for my Cultists saves. My Prince for example rolled mostly ones and twos. The only other model I was seriously impressed with was my Possessed Champion who, long after all his brothers were dead, survived several rounds of assault with Warp Talons, Bikes, and Cultists.

It was against a teenager, I thought he was actually a little older, but he got collected by his mother at the end of the game. I made a light hearted jab about a rule misunderstanding that we both had made, joking that he was taking advantage of a newer player, and I think his mother thought I was accusing him of cheating, and she wasn't too happy with that. Oops. I tried to play it down then, but I think I only dug a deeper hole for him.

And I accidentally stole one of his cultists too. I don't have any contact details for him. He must think I'm a right donkey-cave.

Haha donkey cave. I'm not too old to get a giggle out of that.

Thanks for the report, I'm guessing you played mostly with Dark Vengeance?

To answer your questions, by the look of it your daemons are part of an allied detachment, if that's the case then you don't roll on the warp storm table.

Daemon Princes in both Codices, Marines and Daemons, don't have to challenge. In the CSM book a character only has to challenge if he has the "Champion of Chaos" rule which DPs don't have. However, as a daemon prince is a character, if he is alone and challenged by another character he must accept as he is the only model refusing would mean no one on your side can strike.

As far as taking his model, just take it back to the store and leave it behind the desk, I did this before and it got returned in the end.

Do you think I made a faux pas by joking that I'd been cheated? I thought my joking tone was pretty obvious, and it was a friendly game anyway. I'm not terribly aware of wargaming etiquette.

I think you're fine, parents can be over protective. Considering she didn't see the game she has impression of you beyond what you said, your opponent probably knew what you meant.

Looking forward to more reports!

She seemed annoyed at him, not at me though. I hope I didn't get him in trouble. Oh well.

I'll play a short game tonight too.
