I play mainly a steel legion IG army. I'm looking to increase my army size but since GW in the United States is out of steel legion I really cant. Does any 3rd party company make a model that looks close to the steel legion? I know dream forge has some nice models that look kind of close but I would really like it if they had greatcoats.

you could always try looking around game stores across north america to see if they still have them. Sentry box in calgary carried a bunch of stuff for a while. Last time I bothered checking they had steel legion, mordians and even some praetorians around. Not very many though... of coruse you'd have to call them which'd be a pain. There's also fee bay, and if you're okay with not plaint in any GW store, WGF Shockroops also fit the bill, but, you might be dissapointed with the quality. They're cheap and come by the bucket. I can't conceive of any bits dealers at this time, but there's also trenchcoat legs you can get independently from 3rd parties. I've been awake for something like 20 hours, so I'm getting loopy and can't think of the names.

Why not Death Korps of Krieg? If you don't mind selling your kidney to purchase a single platoon, they're perfect XD

Maxmini.eu and Blight wheel miniatures have great coat legs and torsoes. Mad Robot Miniatures, too (albeit only closed ones). Most difficult will be the heads, i guess. That, and the size difference. Steel legion minis are smaller than the newer minis, especially the Forgeworld stuff.

The difference is not too noticeable tbh. I have several steel legion, some plastic catachans & cadians, metal catachans, DKoK, & Elysians.

because getting DKOK is still almost more expensive than scrouning up ASL, and incidentally, also much more work and care than hardy metal steel legion. At least that's my preference and what i hope OP shares.

Just picked up this guy as my master of ordnance from full borer miniatures. Think he's a pretty sweet model

Have you given much thought to eBay? It's kind of an obvious answer, but it's where I sourced my Steel Legion platoon and my entire horde of Valhallans.

The wargames factory greatcoats with cadian arms & accessories & some suitable gas mask heads can work. They're not perfect but they work. That's what my Armageddon pdf platoon is made from.

Legs, torso and arms : http://maxmini.eu/index.php?route=product/search&search=greatcoat
Heads (are gonna need a bit of modification to the brim): http://maxmini.eu/conversion-bits/head-swaps/neobrit-trenchers-heads
I have used Maxmini stuff before and their stuff is top notch. This will cost you 4.2 Euro/mini or 5.83 dollars/mini. It will be more expensive than GW Steel Legion, but they will also look a million times better. They are some truly awesome sculpts.

I'd go with secrets of the third Reich heads personally. They're more readily available & have as much variety.
