Fury of the Ancients moves across the board until it hits a friendly unit or a unit locked in close combat. It does not need line of sight as it doesnt target anything in specific, it just moves in a direction. If my librarian has an auspex and infiltrators set up within the 4D6 of him is he able to let off the fury? Fury states it is to be used in the shooting phase. Even though an auspex gives the unit a free shot, Would this overule being able to use it before the game in the "infiltrating phase"? Most close combat style infiltrators set up less than 18 and out of sight therefore only guess weapons would be able to target them.

Many questions have arisen about Fury. Mostly, they are in the form of "Since Fury seems to be a shooting attack, can Fury do X?"

Does it conform to LOS rules?

Do you get Tank Hunter added to it?

Can it use the AUspex ability or Mystic ability? ( Either Sage or Mystic allows you zap incoming daemins, forget which)

IMHO, the answer is simply to treat it as a shooting weapon, except that 1) it doesn't count against the model's number of allowable weapons, and 2) a Psychic Test is required to "pull the trigger".

If anyone else feels different, I'm sure they'll say so.

No.

First sentence under Fury's non-fluff description; pg 26 marine 'dex:

The power is used in the Librarian's Shooting phase...

Does the Auspex shooting occur during the Librarian's shooting phase... ?

Well...In that case, it never gets used.

The Librarian doesn't have a shooting phase. The player controlling him does.

So there. You have been out-quoted.

Nyah.

For that matter a lascannon can only shoot in the players shooting phase. Auspex specifically overrides the when people can shoot rules.

However, FOTA cannot be used with an auspex as an auspex allows only the infiltrating unit to be fired apon. FOTA does not target the infiltrating unit, it targets a board edge, which of course is not what the special rules for the auspex allowed.

So no.
