ok so new question, do i have 2 much synapse. i another list poped up on here with a sneaky plan to deep strike and infiltrate just about everything behind enemy lines,
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/586951.page
i kinda think that list might be the way to go instead, just add another 500 points.
Ive tried to focus on being able to blow out the SW army fast when he gets in range, he loves his thunerwolves and runs canis wolf born too, so he can't do a lot if i bomb him out with the crones...
* Elites, am i worth running 2 broods of 2 zanthrops instead?
* do i have enough synapse?
*should i swap out for a trygon prime in HS instead?
*should i cull the list and get another flyrant instead?
*should i just make him play 2000 points and solve a few problems lol?
*really need help on my troop choices.
please constructive criticism please.

Looks pretty nice If you can you should double out the Zoeys, otherwise you give up first blood to volume of fire too easily.
Maybe it's "just me", but I consider the Norn Crown to be a poor use of points. If nothing else add some more Gaunts.
I don't usually kit out Warriors, but if you're seeing a lot of Space Wolves, I can see why you do... I suggest you spend some of those Norn savings on Hive Commander. Even if you don't the fact that you Might Outflank a Angry Momma Bug (Tervigon) should mess with his deployment.
I can see why you went with Crushing Claws, but I'd use a Thorax Hive, and spend the extra 5 on something else.
Good luck, and good hunting!
Late entry: You might use "extra" points to put some Devilgaunts into your little Brood.. And if you have not glued them, drop the Deathspitters from the Sword Warriors for more savings...

Cheers for the help, yeah I'm about to spend 5 months in the USA so I'm looking at building the whole thing over there, and purchasing it so i have no models at the moment, this list is every much liquid.
Thanks for the advice, I've been reading a lot of lists about tyranids, and there are so many different styles and good lists out there is so hard to work out which style to build on.
I like the other lictor mawloc list posting on here and the flyers based one too...
yeah i wasn't sure about crown either, i just have a fear of units being out of synapse. and i figure if my warriors are gonna be on the front lines as a big synapse nod they better be about to handle thunder wolves, because they will be a target.
whats your opinion on the tervigon? do i need 30 termagants in reserve to field it? then spew then out when ready?

The 30 gants are a unit, you can use it any way you wish (Lots of folks Outflank it. ) you will need to paint up extra Termigants for Tervigon to spawn (you can also use losses) I would recommend starting at say 1000 points that way you can get a feel for it, and if you like add a Formation when you start running at higher point levels. Most of the Formations run from 350 to 950.
Good luck, and welcome to the Hive.
Late entry: If you have not glued, then take a look at just kitting Rending Claws, they only cost 5 per, and if you feel the need, they synergise with Toxic very well (and its cheaper than bone swords still. ) I prefer Strangle Cannons vs Venom, for the pin tests.

Hey buddy.
I'm guessing the top list is your most up to date list? Honestly, I think your troops will be where you struggle most. 2 squads of 10 giants are probably going to be dead bugs pretty quickly...

I haven't got my codex with me so can't check on points at the moment, but have you thought about dropping 2x Zoanthropes for 2x Venomthropes. The shroud provided by Venomthropes can be very very useful so it is worth considering and running two gives you useful redundency. They don't give synapse which is a bit awkward but you have pretty good synapse with the two Flyrants, Warriors, Zoanthropes and Trygon Prime so you should be ok there.
Also, if it were me I personally prefer to run another group of Warriors as they are really rather good although I appreciate you would have to do some chopping and changing to get them in so that may not be feasible.

I think the reason that you see this is most competitive nid lists don't really worry about objectives. If you only have 20 gants on the board, of course they're going to die. But if you have 80 on the board for only 360 points, now you are creating some real problems for your opponents. Nids win because they can flood the field with bodies, both for troops and MCs. In most of my lists, I run at least 80 gants, and usually I run about 120 paired with 6-8 MCs. That way I can absorb a ton of damage, flood the field, and surround objectives late game.

This sounds like pretty good advice. I'm trying to build a comp list myself, but want to be different to the normal FMC spam! My list has 60 guants, 9 warriors and 4 MC's. I'm using the endless swarm formation though, so 60 might not be 60, it could be more! But none the less, I have at the very least 9 scoring units. Granted my guant squads are only squads of 10, but they can re spawn and there is 6 of them!

Do units the tervigon spews out count as reserves or troop choices? How does he work?
Good feed back guys about the gaunt spam, so is there value in ripper swams too? Even if just to eat bullets and get your troops closer?
So how does a tervigon work as a troop choice them do the gaunts come free?

Tervigons kind of work. It depends. They're a great central synapse. If you take him as a HQ choice then you don't have to pay any points for spawned termaguants and they count as troops units. So they can capture objectives and such. Of course it's a bit of a gamble how many you may get.
If you want him as a troops choice, and therefor able to hold objectives himself then you have to pay the 120 tax of 30 termaguants. But any further spawned units are again free pointwise and again count as troops.
As for ripper swarms..... I don't know. Honestly never ever used them....

What he said. Yeah, I like rippers, but they just have no value... Maybe in 7Th they'll finally be good for something, they just scream out "Tar pit!" but they always seem to fall down...

You also might want to look at finding room for 3 Biovores and running the Living Artillery formation. Not great vs. SW, but fun against Guard, Eldar, and Tau!
I hate that FMC is so prevalent these days, not because I don't like playing Flappy Birds (I actually like flying around making "ZOOM" noises), but because it has us pigeonholed ATM. Skyblight is a VERY powerful formation, and looks like it might get better in 7th due to the rumored changes in grounding checks. But with the changes allowing BattleForged lists to have Objective Secured in Troops, I can see Tervigons and the Endless Swarm formation getting some play.

Not sure I understand...Yes you still have to roll to enter, but a Lictor lets you place precisely with 6" of Lictor (1" from foe?? ) Like wise, a Trygon or Trygon Prime, rolls to enter, but leaves a "tunnel marker" that following units can utilise. The main issue is putting things into ongoing reserve in the first place. Re-spawn units appear in ongoing, so problem solved.
You can modify the roll, but usually it works out just fine..

Thanks just looking at ways i can flood behind the enemies line.
Infiltrated lictor 12" from unit and behind cover. (he gets to move turn 1, so hopefully i can move him with in 6")
turn 2 tunnel in trygon prime and he can have 12 shots if i give him the hive, same turn if i get to have my lictor close enough i can hit in with the mawloc, hopefully there is enough gak going on that from there i can flood in gaunts through the tunnel.
if i infiltrated gene stealers on the first turns swell it could give the other player more things to shoot at so hopefully the lictor survives.
what ways can i lower my roll? if i put up a bad roll, the whole things turns to gak, and i die quietly in shame in the corner.

Well a cheap Fort, with Comm linc is an option...Warlord Traits?. One "trick" is to have the Lictor(s) go to ground when shot at, when the Big Wormey tunnels in, she provides Synapse, so the Lictor pops back up. If you also Outflank a big Brood of Gaunts, they get to benefit from having durable Synapse tunnel in. And reinforcements arrive from reserve thereafter. With all that backfield shenanegins going on, the main force can close in relative safety. Depending a die roll is another reason I like having two Wormeys, so I have two chances to pull things off.
Just a note on above, Big Wormey gets 12 shots without a Hive, not sure what you're saying. If you give her a template weapon, that should be a big boost fo firing on arrival.

30 termagants, with ten of them upgraded to devourers, is a pretty useful unit. Decent damage output against all infantry and can usually take plenty of damage before losing the sting. It also allows you to take a tervigon as troops, without feeling like a tax...

Easy enough to do...just remember Tyranofex is Brutal, yet Awesome! Big Wormey is Awesome, yet Brutal...
I hear that Warlord Traits has a "Master of Ambush" that lets a Warlord Outflank with up to 3 Units So you could Outflank a Tyrant, a Tyrano, a Brood of Gaunts and still have room for Jello!
I could see doing this with a Walking Tyrant Warlord (Swarmy? is that you? ) a unit of Guard, a Veno Brood, and a Big Brood of Termigants ( say 20 Spinegaunts, and 10 Devilgaunts ) that should wreck the enemies plans in a Major way.
Or a Warlord could take a whole (small ) Formation with him. (Like a wreaker node! ) as long as you run Battle forged you can re-roll on the Warlord Traints so you have a 1/3 chance of getting it (Strategic?)

Out flanking is just from the side though. Mawloc hitting right in the kisser and the prime tunneling in right behind giving synapse and then opening the flood gates is a headache, gaunts from the side is a pile of dead gaunts on the left instead of infront...

Well, if they focus on the Gaunts, the Warlord and friends can go to town. Besides this is Sparta!...um Tyranidia!!! So "threat overload" is the name of the game. You don't just do one thing, you zoom down field as fast as you can. That way your enemy can make mistakes.
