Getting ready to move to Andrews AFB in July and I will be there for a year, and I'm Starting to wonder what kind of gaming scene I can expect around there.

I can play anything, but if I need to pick up a fantasy army or an X-Wing fleet or something because that's what everyone is playing. Just trying to get a general feel for it!

Edit:
Also, totally off topic, but does anyone game AND do things like crossfit? Because then we have to be best friends!

Google Iron Fist League and find the forums. It was a pretty large club a few years ago when I was in the Pentagon.

If you play Warhammer Fantasy or 40k there's a Battle Bunker in Bowie which is not terribly far from Andrews. I only work out of Andrews occasionally, so I don't know what the gaming scene is like otherwise.

Dropzone in Glen Burnie is where you will end up.

It has a ton of Xwing players, lots of Warhammer 40k/Fantasy and Infinity/Hordes players, plus the place is huge, military friendly and is a really positive place.

My wife and I just started going about two months ago when the Bowie Bunker closed and its been awesome.

I'm almost certain the Bowie Bunker is still open.

Dropzone is the best FLGS in the Baltimore area, in my opinion, and I make it a point to give those guys some money any time I'm in town but it's going to be a bit of a hike from Andrews.

^ The Bowie bunker is still open but with severely reduced hours and the ultra friendly staff they used to have are all now at Dropzone gaming. Besides being a much better store and environment, its worth not having the GW draconian laws there as well.
