Are they just machines with orks in them named after gods, or this some kind of ritual thing with the orks?
Also, they look freaking AWESOME

It's like a larger version of a Deff Dread except it's piloted by a nob, can carry 6 troops in the belly, and will blow your face off with a mountain of Dakka. The Morkanaut is a shootier version piloted by a Mek.

Orks build effigies to their gods, and since neither Gork nor Mork would be happy with an effigy that couldn't stomp and shoot and crush, they're war machines as well. The Gorkanaut exemplifies brutal cunning, and the Morkanaut exemplifies cunning brutality.

This. Gorka/Morkanauts, Stompas and Gargants are totems. Walking, heavily-armed totems.

The best kind of totems!
Tough, I'd think the Stompas (Forgive my memory, but those are the large, apoc only ones right?) would be what would be called a Gorkanaut (Things fething huge), and what ever is currently Gorkanaut sized be called a Stompa.

Yep, one will be tempted to reclassify the 'nauts as Stompas and Stompas as Gargants. But I do hope we see a proper Gargant in the future!

Um, I might be off on the scale, but for a Great Gargant, you might just want to mail Forgeworld your first born child. They don't even make Warlord Titans, which are about the height of a Great Gargant, but the Great Gargant is much more massive (since it has that big torso full of dakka and lads). I'm not sure most people's table would take the strain.

And for a Megagargant you may as well just use your first born child. Give them a big bucket to wear and tape some cardboard tubes on and tell them to stomp about making "grrr" sounds

I have a question... Is the Gorka/Morkanaught just a walker?
Because, if it is, Stompas can carry up to 3 walkers.
If so, and I fill a morka/gorkanaught with meks and a big mek, well...I guess here's what I'm getting at;

Does a unit embarked in a transport that's embarked in a transport count as being embarked in the transport their transport is embarked in?

In other words, can the meks in the gorka/morkanaught that's in the stompa repair said stompa?

Only the orks would have to ask such a question...

Also, if so, I was thinking that someone needs to make a stompa out of Gorka/morkanaughts, Voltron style, so when the stompa dies, the naughts could just detach!

Since when can Stompas transport walkers in the current rules?

I might be missing something but neither Escalation nor IA 8 seems to give them that option.

Not that i wouldn't be happy as a clam to use that

I'm looking at the sizes of the models and the only way I can remotely visualize a Stompa carrying those huge Morka/Gorkanaughts (you had that the wrong way around, btw), is if the Morka/Gorkanaughts are riding outside, either on top of the Stompa or more likely carried in giant baby harnesses.

I don't have the new Apocalypse but in the original one all superheavy transports could carry walkers, counting as 10 passengers each. I toyed around with the idea of a Skullhamma carrying 3 Defilers at some point...
