Heading to my locals this weekend and I hear they are planning small points games tournament. Could the community rate this list please?

HQ
Tyranid Prime - 125

Troops

20x Termagants - 80

20x Termagants - 80

Elite

Venomthrope 45

Zoanthrope - 50

Heavy Support

Carnifex - 120

I don't think anyone will be packing Vehicles but I've got a Zoanthrope and a Carnifex just in case. Would it be worthwhile dropping a few Termagants to add Devourers with Brain Leech Worms to the Carnifex in case people bring Flyers?

EDIT: If it's impossible for people to take flyers or vehicles, is the Carnifex still a good call, or would 3 units of a single Biovore each work better?

Dosen't look bad. If you can swing it going Dakkafex would be a very big bump in ability.

The only "alternate" that jumps out is to try swamping them with Troops... Tervigon, Hive as HQ, two x15 Broods of Termigants, Veno, Zoey x2 maybe toss Regen on the Terv? But I don't think that would be better, just differant.

I like it as well. It's not very melee oriented so you don't have to worry about having your prime babysit Hormagaunts and a Venomthrope should do a nice job as moving cover. Looks like you've covered the bases if your opponent brings tanks.

Just at a curiosity, let's say he doesn't bring tanks. Do you have backup roles for the Zoanthrope and Carnifex? I don't have the 6th edition Tyranid Codex so I don't know if he can spread buffs or not.

Well I'd like to keep the Zoanthrope, if only for the Synapse and Psychic Powers.

I could potentially switch it out and and a group of Termagants for a unit of warriors though. I'd have more points to play with if I removed the Carnifex, having about 160 if I removed a troop of Termagants for said warriors. The Prime could also lend it's WS/BS to the Warriors, making them better to take out units.

I might take out 5 Termagants between the units and stick 2 Twin Linked Devourers with Brain Leech Worms on...I've had some pretty good rolls with it to be honest, and the Carnifex is still able to take on Vehicles with S9 hits, including Armourbane, Smash and Hammer of Wrath.

I'd leave the list as is. It looks strong, and has all the bases covered. I would have liked to fit in a small warrior squad to put the prime in, but it doesn't look like it'd work with the carnifex.

That sounds like a good plan, Dakkafexen are magic! And it can do work as a AA unit should it prove needful.
