From the LatD page- "For all other games, you will need to get your opponent's permission before playing." That really sucks. I don't know many people who would object to someone fielding LatD, but it sucks that you have to ask. So I guess it's semi-official. It's okay at GT's, but you have to check to see if RT's are allowing it. That really makes me confident about converting and painting an army. Oh yeah.

At least they are giving warning that these may or may not be legal. First time GW has ever done a caveat emptor on any of their stuff. I have much respect for that. You can build it, but don't biatch when it's not legal in tourneys

Looking for the Empire spearmen from the Warhammer sixth edition box set (empire vs orcs) Must be unpainted and in good condition. Also looking for MIB Empire State Troops boxes.

Looking for Battle for Macragge and Black Reach Tactical squads, unpainted and unassembled.

I love that you don't even spend the time reading the entire thread before coming on to make a ton of flame posts, Valera. God, it was so much better when you were banned...They addressed this item pages ago!

I'd better hurry home and see if Denise Richards is waiting in my bed.

So, Kid.  Was she there?  *crosses fingers*
Nah.  Had to make due with my frame-by-frame Wild Things screen saver.

And that's the end of that. The next post in this budding flame war closes the thread.

Stay on topic.

If it comes to that, just delete Valera's comments (please), no need to lock an otherwise good & informative thread because of one stinker!

I second Nyarlathotep.

I appreciate the feedback we're getting from GW. I know those of us who have invested time and money in our "alternative armies" would like to hear more.

So GW reps, any answer for my question on the previous page? Thanks.

Jungle rules are still available. Just download the Catachan list. As far as the Hounds, call it a variant of the list. Imperial players have to put up with different stat lines for Servitors.

Hey guys,
In response to Furious's question, we wanted to make these lists available since we still permit them at our events. Since many of these books are now out of print, we thought it would be helpful to have them online. The reason there are still references to Jungle Fighting and the old Tau Codex, is that we were just publishing the old lists. A lot of those minor references weren't even thought of to go in and revamp. Plus, it isn't our place to rework any army lists, as we are not the design studio.
What will likely happen is, I will write up a tournament FAQ for the GTs next year addressing those lists and how they work with the new codex books. Hope that helps!

Thanks Jeff! I'm glad that GW US is following this thought process and not that of the UK's GT team.

Im unsure if this has been fixed or not.

But the Krook Merc list has no listing for the Krootox points cost or stats?  Does this mean we can use the one from the Tau Dex?

*Fingers Crossed*

Ah yes. Gotta love it!

Wow!  Well there go my dreams of having a reasonably costed Krootox squad.  Though its still wrong.  They Krootox are just called Kroot.....

Ah yes. Gotta love it!

As for tournaments - all of these lists will be legal for the 2007 GT season. They will also be considered legal for the standard RTT guidelines. As always, individual RTTs can do what they like in terms of allowing and disallowing things, but for the standard rules they are legit.
More info will be coming soon about the exciting new Tournament plans for 2007. We'll be unveiling all that very soon!

Thanks Jeff! Because of this news, I'll be buying a few items to complete my LatD army. See guys, it's that easy!

Here's hoping we see at least a couple of the old GTs return...

In response to Furious's question...

Many thanks, Jeff - for the response and the updates. If you're out in Northern California, let me know and you can see a Kroot Mercenary Army in action.

@Baconslayer - Yes, the Jungle Rules are still in existence and typically not used at tournaments, RTTs, or GTs, hence the problem: Why pay the points for a unit that has special abilities that can't be used? A non-issue since the update was not a re-vamp. I'm no longer concerned about this.

@Turbo_MMX - Krootox squads aren't worth it even when the Krotox is 35 points...or even 25 points...or 15...which is sad because they're even less of a bargain at 50 points.

Well from experiance in my Tau army they are quite worth it.  Gives me that little bit of extra fire suport for the lighter tanks and ur opponent generaly wont be expecting the fire power from a kroot squad.  But for a Kroot army an ox squad minimum point cost is 251 points!

For 13 T3 6+ save models its seriously over priced.  For the slightly cheeper cost i could see myself using them more often rather than just the bigger games where i have the points to spare.

Ah yes. Gotta love it!
