Posted By Hellfury on 02/05/2007 3:00 PM Posted By syr8766 on 02/05/2007 2:39 PM We'll have to wait to see the rules, but my guess is that it'll have an effect like 'ice cage', rendering it immobile and reducing its DEF to 5. There are very, very few models in the Warmachine line-up that are ineffective, and even those have their advocates. Yeah so I have noticed. Pardon me while I give myslf a lobotomy for everything GW related. Sorry. Not trying to be neg about it, old habits die hard. Even grumpy people are a bit nasty when they go to nirvana for a few days I would imagine. No negativity, man. There ARE some units that are less effective (the pre-Remix standard example was the Khador Mekanik and crew), but it does take a while to realize that your army won't suck if you don't spam on a particular unit/solo/jack. Redstripe: Do you think? Other than Magnus's 'jacks and the rhulic 'jacks, most of the others are 'open'. I'd be surprised if they made these Shae specific. And disappointed...I wanted to give Sam Horne a Buccaneer. I'll be really intrigued to find out what kind of contracts he can take. If Shae and the various pirate units/'jacks are particular only to themselves, I'll be disappointed.

Judging by the anticipation i am seeing on the PP forums, i am sure many people would be dissapointed if they were theirr own entity.
is there already a precedent set for that?

The original merc warcasters were limited to their own warjacks. So the stuntie warcaster had stuntie jacks and the traitor warcaster had his kustom traitor jacks.

You'd be surprised if they made a Pirate jack specific to the Pirate warcaster?
Huh?
I think it's a 100% gaurantee that these jacks will be "Shae only".

So the stuntie warcaster had stuntie jacks and the traitor warcaster had his kustom traitor jacks. Right. There's only one 'generic' merc warcaster--Ashlynn. However, there's a slew of 'generic' jacks (nomad, mule, vanguard and talon come to mind) that can be jack marshaled by various merc units.

Never mind the conjecture: more pirates! Doc (who appears to be a solo) and the rifleman ( UA?)

Holy Batcopter Batman! Privateer Press is really running with this pirate stuff. As far as Mercenaries go, Shae and the Pirates already have a much more robust line than Magnus or the Dwarves. (I'm trying to count the Rhulic 'jacks in my head but I never had much interest in them.)
syr: If I were a betting man, I'd put money on these 'jacks being "Shae only" before I'd put it down on two bullets and a house full of ladies. I'd love to give a Mariner or a Buckeneer to Sam (or Ashlynn for that matter. Where are my Llael resistance 'jacks?) but I just don't think it will happen.
My hope is that the pirate crew will be able to marshall (or the Voodoo short-order cook.)

I agree as well that these 'jacks will be unique to Shae. There's some hints in the text as well. Look at the first line of text for the Buccaneer. Hardly what I would use to describe a standard 'jack available to anyone with enough gold.

Well, pooh.
It'd be nice if our Cajun boy could marshal, though. Also interesting to see who HE can work for.

Cheers ! From the PP Forums. Looks like we're gonna get ourselves a buxom pirate queen! I am soooo doing a Gilbert & Sullivan themed merc army now.

My dreams of a buxom pirate wench will be realized? (The buxomness must not be understated.)
And I've always fantasized of singing 'I am the very model of a modern Major General' while rolling a handfull of dice. Ahhh, Privateer Press... Making Dreams a Reality.

Maybe she'll look like Geena Davis? You know... from Cutthroat Island? Whatever happened to Geena Davis? She used to be in movies but she's not in movies anymore. She's attractive enough but when she smiles you see too much gum. Not a good tooth-to-gum ratio...

She got elected president then quit making movies. But, apparently she wasn't a popular president and got canceled. Kinda like an inverse Reagan, I guess.
