That's a lot of DW Termy pads. I had to go through 3 different sources just to get the 20 I have in my Deathwatch army. I have a few that a guy cast for me (they're resin, but they look like white chocolate! ).

I like it, although it could suffer from the gray marine syndrome of, "Did you just paint the shoulder pads?"
And you've checked out GMMStudios Heavy Metal marines thread in the Modeling and Painting forum for the verdigris stuff he's done lately, right?

Don't do grey. It never ever turns out right.
Especially not from across the room, or even across the tabletop.

I actually agree with Stelek & DBM. I wouldnt do the grey. The verdrigris idea is fine and should look cool, but I would rethink the grey.

Grey could possibly work if you lean it more towards a warmer or cooler grey, and shade it with something other than just black.

If you do grey you will have to go for som eextreme highlights for the details to pop. You'll have to go all the way to skull white from blacklines.
And if they are inquisition force why not go for the red ][ ?

Right - I mean, the Space Wolves gray is way too blue, but what about a more brownish-gray? Leaning towards a khaki or tan? Granted, then you start getting folks confusing your army with Deathwing.

A nice anti-septic-y blue-green would be quite appropriate for them - there's a shade of that in GMMStudios Heavy Metal marines that I think would be a great starting point.

I say use the Banner Capital from the new SM Captain. And I really like the Argent Shroud logo for this - very appropriate.

How about instead of a banner or a vehicle or a terrain piece...since you seem intent on going over the top...
Why don't you make it a flaming cage of imprisoned soulskulls a terminator librarian is fetching "ammo" out of and tossing at a enemy?
Or something equally nuts and dramatic.
Think original Doom hellknights, that kind of thing.
I'm sure you get the drift.

Another quick note about grey as an army base color:
It's all about the accessory colors. You need that striking counterbalance to the otherwise drab base color.

If you do the new scheme in the B&C beta painter, it'll give you a list of the paints the colour you chose closely resembles from various paint companies.

I'd also go with the Vallejo model colors. They have good range of dark grays to choose from so if you have a game store near by which stocks them I suggest you go there and select the closest one from the rack.
