right behind you...

wut sux is that GW is in essence trying to rule-hammer all non smurf marine chapters out of existence. The rumor of no more traits system is pretty well accepted as a confirmed change. And no, I will not be painting my marines blue, no matter how many more IC's (the supposed replacement to the trait chart) are for Smurfs and smurfs only I have always been a successor chapter from any chapter but smurfs.

I dunno, it just feels i=like I'm 8 again, and GW is mommy, trying to feed me the goop (applesauce? pudding? dont know) that she claims is good for me, and that she wont give up until I eat it. Accept I'm not 9 anymore, and instead of myetery goop that will make me sick, its a big fat, spoonful of smorf, that will make me hurl. My lips are pressed as tughtly as they will go, and nothing is getting through, no matter how hard they push

"wut sux"?
Ah it sux
October will see the truth of it.
We all get to use MC (see thread about papa smurf) and his little upgrade smurfies (some smurfs seem to be no IC's).

The loss of traits would be a chance if GW had done a "one-armylist-per-primogenitor-Legion" as replacement.

GW's new SM may be SC = Legion = difference against ultramarines.
The only SC I heard were 2 new: a Sallie, a White Scar and 2 old: with Kantor and Shrike.4 out of 13 rumored. :S

In Hell, and it's HOT!!!!

YOU SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN WHAT THIS THREAD IS ALL ABOUT, , NOT IG

well, if the missed most of the fighting in the HH, well then they've had a very long time to re-establish their forces, like maybe 8,000 years or more?? (i dont keep track of the timeline)

well, i can come up with 3 outcomes of these "greats":
1. Chaos attacks the main planets, dont feel like getting off their asses to help(perhaps when their about to die FINALLY), and were ruled by the forces of Khorne, Gurgle, Tzeentch, Ghargatuloth, and whatever dark gods are out there.

2. for some damned reason decide to attack chaos planets, are at the front cuz they're "the greatest in the ", and HOPEFULLY, and i mean it, primarch whats-his-face decides to suicide himself with a bomb and "destroys" a large part of the chaos forces, eliminating the for the time being. its a dumb outcome but you cant live forever

3.same as outcome 1, but instead the help out, somehow the other SM chapters are eliminated, then were ruled by the (and they are SO pretty in their armor) for all you haters out there, think how long that will last

Look, the Ultramarines rock!

And no, I don't play them.

They were the largest Legion ever, back in the day.

Their home system is probably the only place you'd really ever want to live (aside from the odd Tyranid invasion, of course!).

And, when the big E's life support finally clicks off, and he's reborn, it will be from Ultramar that the new Great Crusade is launched!

Haha, yes! Go go Alpharius.

You know what the main reason I like Ultramarines is?

No other chapter has a thread like this.

Love, hate, or indifference - you still have to form an opinion.

All I have to say is I've been playing since Rogue trader, and the SM chapter that I have always played has been the Crimson Fists. Why do you ask, because all of the fluff of the CF, even the covers of the Rogue Trader and SM books, is of them getting their @$$ handed to them. In the fluff, they get their @$$ handed to them (mainly because of themselves). With a history like that, what a perfect chapter to play...

I think the Ultramarines are the biggest pussies. They're so bloody straight up and down. I swear they've got a pipe up their ass so that they'll have a straight back and won't sit down. Sorry.

Wha...?!?

GBF, don't you lead a good 1/3 of all diatribes against Space Marines???

Seriously though, the Ultramarines are the closest things to 'good guys' in the Imperium, outside of the Space Wolves, of course!

overrated, look like smurfs, too many people use em.

Krak_kirby wrote:My marines are Eagle Warriors, a successor chapter of the Ultramarines. I picked them after looking at bunches of paint schemes and deciding I like theirs best. In terms of pure visceral appeal, I like the Space Wolves, Black Templars and Blood Angels. Those chapters and others however, are about as far from making military sense as it gets. Destroying the enemy is about brains before brawn, but the fluff for these chapters shows them to be poor decision makers, frothing maniacs on the field, and uninterested in basic communication or battlefield strategy.

I can see the appeal berserkers and intolerant xenophobes have on players, heck it's nice to paint the universe in black and white. That's part of why I play this game. But when I imagine a space marine, I think of controlled violence, martial mastery and above all, a veteran of a thousand battles. The Ultramarines and Dan Abnett's Iron Snakes get my vote for the most efficient and impactful representations of marines. They think, then they act, just as violently as other chapters, but to better effect. If I want berserk nutters, I'll play my orks or chaos.

Alright, So what are the raven guard?

Their kinda emo, big on martial perfection, and kinda have that NO MERCY! NO RESPITE!!! thing going too.

so emo+crazy+tactics = emorazactics?
