Hello Mr. Oblivion.
I did cast my parts, but every single one of them were scratchbuilt first.
Other than that I just used plastic or metal original GW parts as you can see on this shot of the side sponson, where the bolters were cut and trimmed to fit.
Why go through the trouble of casting something that can be bought for cheap and cut off from a sprue?
The second shot shows the main gun, several bits of styrene and copper piping.
In the other shot you can check the metal track links. I scratchbuilt one and cast the rest.
This model was entirely built using styrene and styrene foam for the thicker plates
And just to avoid the tons of questions I get on every site, no I do not have templates, no I do not sell these parts, no I cannot teach or make an article on how I cast these pieces. I don't want any kind of problems with GW legal, and moderators, if any of this is a problem for the site, please edit at will.
If you guys remember, the Stormahmmer had it's own article in the Black Gobbo way back when. The photos were taken by Ty Finnochiaro from the US web team at a games day and he asked me to write a short article on how I did it. A week after the article was published, Ty called me and said that the CEO of GW US had received a call from Nottingham asking them to remove the article from the site. According to Ty, they did not want to but had no choice. Months later the article crept back in the Imperial Guard pages, but after the renewal of the GW site, it disappeared for good.

Great work Black adder. Love the name by the way. Just watched the christmas special a few days ago for 10th time.

Anyways i know im late but Russians did the sloped armor before the germans. Actually the Germans didnt even know sloped meant till they met the russian T-34.

Sorry this is late should have been back on the 1st page.

This is silly! Buttons are not how one escapes dungeons! I would smash the button and rain beatings liberally down on the wizard for playing such a trick!

This is your own Mr. Silva writing on this thread.
First of all congratulations to BlackA for your efforts and on the recycling idea.
Now let's go for a little history lesson.
I first started with the infamous WD 132. At the time I was still living in Brazil, where the access to modelling supplies was very difficult, so styrene was out of the question.
I had to use chipboard for the structure and a stiff cardboard to cover the chipboard so it would take paint.
After a while, I moved to California, but being so used to modeling with "paper" I decided to build my first version of the Titanjaeger using the same materials.
If you look closely, the front return wheels are core of receipt paper rolls. The track links were cast in metal since nobody at the time even considered a plastic Baneblade and Forgeworld to this day still refuses to sell parts. Some plastic parts from GW kits were used as they at FW also do and yes, I agree the main gun was a little disappointing.
After that I gave in to styrene and started using this wonderful plastic for my projects.
Then came the Stormhammer, for which I scratchbuilt and cast virtually everything including new track links, the same width of the original ones from FW ( the ones on the first version of the Titanjaeger were narrower)
And then the Titajaeger Ausf 2, for which I decided to make a decent gun this time, and again everything on it is from scratch, it's not a FW hull converted.
I'll post a couple of pictures from said models so you guys can compare.
My latest work was a Warhound which I'm posting photos in the end of the topic.
I thank you all for the kind words, now on to some pics:
First the Stormhammer:

Then the Titanjaeger Ausf II

And for last my Warhound, which was sold on e-bay for US$ 950.00 (I guess I got some appreciation after all...)

Wow a post from my mentor in abstentia himself. I'm deeply honored though I had to go back over my posts to make sure I gave proper credit where credit was due. Whew, all seemed properly deferential thank the maker.

That said, I am rather saddened that M. Silva will not be sharing his lost wax (I'm assuming) moulding techniques with us but I am extremely gratiful for his input and sharing his other works of art with us.

Kudos to you Sir.

Actually there is quite a bit of contrast on the actual model but the camera doesn't show it off very well for some reason. Seeing it in person makes all the difference especially on a battleboard. When I get around to it I submit a photo of the entire tank company in a battle venue.

I have a question and I need some advice.

I'm resurrecting my old Titan Hunter Thread because I need to learn how to do the Plasma Blaster blue glow on the plasma coils

I have the much larger Coils on the Emperor Titan's weapon and I want to do a bang up job.

What colours and What washes do I need to do a real Pro Job?

And yes; as soon as the weather warms up I'll begin painting certain areas of this monster

Cool tank Blackadder. I’ve not done much with plasma myself, but these were the best tutorials I’ve seen

While the first one is for green, it gives a good idea of the process. Not sure how well these will scale up, I suspect they’ll work well on the tank, but the Emperor Titan might suit w dry brush better. This one from Midwinter minis looks pretty good imho

Good luck!

That's a nice looking tank. In fact, it looks like a German Jagdpanzer V, aka. Jagdpanther

I've got a lot of nerve resurrecting this old thread but I need to learn how to do Blue Plasma coils For my Emperor's Plasma cannon. I borrowed here and there from a half dozen "expert" painters and their results were fair to middling but none tackled large cannon that I could find.

I haven't yet seen these images so I don't know how they've turned out...
