I think we can confirm that the new Russ variant will feature four autocannons, a small technical image of the new variant with sponson-mounted multi-meltas can be found on page 142-143 of the 5th edition rulebook. I also have a feeling we can expect plastic Thunderbolts next year.

I could possibly see a new Russ variant like the 4-barreled thing I've been seeing hints of, but considering GW's feelings about fliers in 40k (sans Apocalypse/FW rules) I doubt we'll see plastic Thunderbolts anytime soon. I mean, Valkyries as skimmers makes some sense, but I don't think you could do it with T-Bolts.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

The plastic Thunderbolts could be a Planet Strike only thing, just like how the Baneblade is an Apocalypse only release. GW is releasing a Thunderhawk next year, so why not a Thunderbolt as well?

True - I hadn't thought about Planet Strike. Considering the cost to tool up new plastic sets, though, I'm still a little skeptical. I'd place money on a plastic Vulture to go with the plastic Valk sooner than a plastic T-Bolt, though.

Maybe, but when looking at the Apocalypse book my money is on a Thunderbolt first, the poster child of the Imperial Navy.

Pity that 40k isn't a naval simulation

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Apocalypse reload has a datasheet for the "Stormlord", which is a Baneblade based transport for 40 guardsmen. It's main armament is the vulcan mega-bolter. It is depicted in a grey side drawing only, with a big red stamp "Classified" on it. Would this be a new entry in the IG codex?

Oh, how one could wish...

No, the "Stormlord" won't likely be in the IG Codex.

Nor would one expect the basic Baneblade in there, either.

Apocalypse Datasheets don't exist in "ordinary" 40k.

But a Superheavy IG tank with a VMB that transports 40 models (Conscripts) would be really awesome.

If it can transport 40 imps, then it can transport 20 Ogryn, right? That would really come in handy.

Because marine stuff outsells IG stuff 10 to 1.

That's why not.

Or twenty GK terminators for that matter...

Thanks, KK - I knew there was a reason that logic didn't sound right to me, but couldn't elucidate it so well.
