An amazing model, I'd love to see the windows painted as stained glass, to complete the mobile cathedral imagery. Is there any update on this?

Cool model, although I wouldn't paint it white. White will be difficult to weather subtly, and you might not be able to define all the detail there. I'd go for gold all over personally. With gold, you can start from a scorched brown basecoat which will give your model lots of depth. This would complement the COD sprues. Also, it seems like quite an appropriate colour to decorate something so grand. Obviously this is a vehicle which will inspire armies, and the surface work alone is a ''weapon'' in itself.

Also, gold would look killer in sunlight.
1. Scorched Brown and Shining gold 50/50 basecoat
2. Scorched Brown and Shining gold 30/70 (drybrush? unless you really want it to look amazing and layer the whole thing)
3. Shining Gold
4. Shining Gold and Mithril Silver 90/10
5. Extreme highlights in mithril silver.

This is my formula for painting gold. I like to throw several brown washes over the top of it when I'm done just to tie it all together.

Obviously this is just an opinion! However I don't think white is the way to go as it is a limited colour to use, and a model like this demands something more special.

All the best.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

ive been tinkering with pulsa rokkits
ill get a vid later, my friend has a massive ork tank that fires nerf balls XD

but yea, something along the lines of a large pulsar rokkit, or super lifta droppa.

sounds like a nibquestion, but where can i find the best rules for building a new ork vehicle?

Dunno bro. There was those rules in WD years ago but I wouldn't be surprised if they're irrelevant now. I'm sure there's stuff in Imperial armour which you could use as a guide, but for something like a uberpulsa it's going to be house rules only (for the time being...)

Dont know how the hell I missed this until now!

I started trying to crunch the numbers for the build when I first saw it after I got over how freeking impressive its is. You really did a great job. It totaly looks like some thing GW would sell, and for the most part ( not knowing at this time what tricks you used to insure it will stand the test of transport and gaming as I am sure its heavy as hell) anyone could build a similar contraption with the end result looking the part as vast majortiy of peices are GW and not scratch done.

A truely ingenious model you have created sir, and to achieve that look at that size, wow man just WOW! Probably the single most impressive scratch build I have seen to date and I been at this hobby going on close to 17 years. Cant wait to see what you paint it up like.

Guys, white and gold is fine, if he's going for more of an 18th C. Rococo look, rather than a dark grey gothic look.

When the thing is that big, it gets painted however one likes!

I'm not sure about having them, but judging from the size of that laser cannon, I'd say that thing has a decent chance of being able to father them.

Awesome, inspiring stuff. I didn't even realize how big it was until I saw the comparison pics with the Warhound. Please paint it and post pics!

What's it meant to be? A mobile anti-titan cannon, or an orbital defense laser?

Looks like it could take out a frigate.
