I haven't seen that many Movie Marines projects, and so this is... brilliant!
I loved that article, and all your marines look awesome! They have so much character, you can really see them as die hard heroes played by various actors... lol

You know, you make me think I should have based them off of actual actors. You know, Bruce Willis in power armor would be awesome.

So here's the newest one:
I've made him into a three angle pic because I felt that some of the details on the base needed a top down view.
Comments are always welcome.

I like alot of them a great deal. I particularly like the termie head with the hood. I think I may copy that look for a marine or two. Oddly, they look better to me as conversions than the painted versions. Could just be more weathering than is my taste, but somehow the conversions look great but the painted ones seem overly busy in some cases. Dynamic marines are really hard to acieive....

Those rules are really fun to play with, and really annoying to play against. Nice to see that someone took them to heart and made a squad based off them. Well done

I really like the paintjobs and most of the conversions, good job in making all the marines look distinctive, yet with enough common elements that they still look as part of a whole squad.
The only nitpick I would have is that with the amount of extra gubbins you've loaded on the top, using stock marine legs makes them look stunted and top heavy. Like someone else on this thread mentioned, you would have done much better had you truescaled them or heck, just used Terminator legs.

On Truescaling, I'm always a little wary on what it is meant to represent. By the fluff, marines should be about as big as the minis make them look when standing next to imperial guardsmen.
When I started this project, I had only seen poorly done true scale marines (marines with longer legs, but not scaled up arms, so they looked like frog marines or something). I actually checked a couple tutorials on it and really disliked their results, so I decided against truescaling the project.
Right now, I've changed my mind. I rather think that it would be a lot of fun to truescale some marines, and at this point I've seen it done very well.
Sometime, I'll go ahead and do a second set of movie marines for myself, and if I do, I'll be making them all truescale using Terminator parts.
Of course, I've no idea what chapter I'll use, except that it absolutely won't be Ultramarines again.

guardsmen are 5 to 6 foot and marines are 8 foot yet the model are barely a cm taller
this is what truescale is meant to show

I guess I can see that, but Space Marine fluff has never been consistent about their size. I have some books that put them at seven feet tall (and I'm pretty sure the average Catachan is seven feet tall). I know a lot of people that insist they are ten feet tall.
Actually, with 28/30mm minis, a centimeter would be an enormous difference. It might just be a mm or two difference though, I'm sure GW didn't actually figure out their scale when making the minis.
Still, I do intend to try truescaling a squad of marines and see how I like it.

Ok, I've got two new marines to show off:
The first one is a true Movie Marine:
And the second one is a new Stunt Double. That makes three, and I think that's all I'll be using in most games.

Well, I counted on this being a big project. The original idea was to put as much work into these guys as I would a normal 2000 point army.
With all of the sculpting, and detailed paint jobs, I don't think I'm too far off.

Ok, here is the newest Movie Marine for the group.
Yeah, this is taking me quite a while to get them finished (they aren't the only big project I have on my table).
I am getting there though. Only three marines and the tank are left.

I love the painting on the shield. Amazing work.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Ok, the next one is done.
I based the pose for this guy on a Jes Goodwin painting (although I did switch some things up... I'm pretty sure Jes' picture is of a Chaplain).
Anyway, here he is:

Add one more Movie Space Marine to the painted list.
This guy is meant to be a sort of weapons collector character. You know, the guy in the movie who collects way too many different weapons, but he never seems to have to reload, and always has the largest gun out and at the ready. Maybe he’s named a gun or two, and he might keep a few extra grenades on hand.
I like to think of him as Brother Jayne Cobb.
