first class. absolutely first class. if only i read this yesterday (im free-handing the DA mark on a marine, but i didnt do an outline at the beginning). i would love to see you do some different art on a vehicle. perhaps on a baneblade a really big depiction of the cadian gate, or a dragon on a valkerie.

The "Gate" symbol of Cadia is totally symmetrical, so that would be easy. The "gate" itself though is actually just an area of space. There's no gigantic gate that ships actually pass through. It's just a stable region in the space around the Eye of Terror. Has something to do with the Necron pylons on Cadia's surface.

That was insane . This is a great tutorial , I can paint and draw pretty well ,I have always wanted to apply some free hand work .

Dope. Recently got back into the hobby after 10+ years away.

Now have an art practice and 4 years of art school under my belt (albeit not in painting), keen to take some of the tips on board and do some freehanding, didn't even cross my mind to do so until I did this.

Thanks for the tut, I think this belongs to Banners and such (like Schmapdi, i dont think marines would do that in a place so prone to receive great amounts of damage).

But man, i will use that... I liked how you "bring it up", adding shades over shades of color, until the ilusion of 3d is there, usefull not just for "panels", but for anything else...

Would it be possible to see the whole tank from a bit of distance, I'd like to see how this would look on the tabletop as I'd love to try something similar, but I'm worried about the scaling.
