Most will make orks green but some different colours would add some variety and uniqueness to the army.

I actually have some white-man flesh colored orks. If they look too human, you just dip them in Devlan Mud till they look REALLY tanned and it turns out decidedly orky.

To all the whiners who say that Orks have to be green because of GW "canon", let me just put this out there- in the BL book "Gunheads" the Golgothan Orks are described numerous times and in no uncertain terms as being brown. Not brownish-green, not greenish-brown, just brown.

Those books are in no way canon according to GW the Great and Terrible. However, that fact aside, canon DOES make the best burger; does it not?

I would find differently-colored Orks to be amusing--nothing to rage over.
Also, some of the older fluff tells us that some Orks get too involved in killing things and turn to Khorne. In that case, they might paint themselves red to be closer to their new patron (and go fasta, but only as a side benefit).

Ok, I play a blue army. Here are the benefits
1. I am R/G colourblind, making them way easier to paint.
2. I have a friend who plays orks, and if mine weren't a different colour it would get crazy confusing
3. Its my army, and therefore must be as abnormal as possible while still making sense. Making them blue will do that nicely.
I bought my damned models, I bought my paints, and I'm painting my army reasonably well. I obey all the specific rules that are required to make the game function. Ergo, GW can go "Suck a feth" as far as I'm concerned (how exactly does one suck a feth?)

In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. But public opinion, because of the tremendous urge to conformity in gregarious animals, is less tolerant than any system of law. When human beings are governed by "thou shalt not", the individual can practise a certain amount of eccentricity: when they are supposedly governed by "love" or "reason", he is under continuous pressure to make him behave and think in exactly the same way as everyone else.

I like the change up and it makes for interesting discussion. Of course in his case he regretted doing both because of the gripes, but a blue Bloodthirster is a sight to behold.
Blue makes perfect sense! on any world that wasnt oxygen based blood (human anyways) would turn blue due to lack of oxygen. How is that not representing at least a part of the blood god?
and on an orky note, i think grey skinned orks would be quite interesting

i always wanted to do red orks a la the chaos orcs from warcraft 3. I dont see it being unfeasible fluffwise. Some ork spores found their way to a chaos tainted planet and gave birth to chaosy khorne worshiping ork boys. A waaaagh found itself transported to the eye of terror and got over to worshiping khorne and painted themselves red. I'm sure there are other justifications. I say just have fun with it
