So with the arb boyz missions pretty much all including kill points how do you think your KP heavy mech guard will fare?

I think that may be why I am having such little luck with the PBS in my test games.
Here MEQ is more like 70% it seems. Then there is Orks and Demons and I dont need the PBS for Orks at 2500. I just have sooooo many guns. The pair of rolling demolishers seems to do much better for me than a single demolisher and PBS. The way im running now I have 14 meltaguns, 6 plasmaguns, 10 lascannons, 8 multilasers, 7 Heavy Stubbas, 2 rocket pods, 2 demolisher cannons, 4 plasma cannons, 10 heavy flamers, 6 flamers and 2 vanquisher cannons. All that in 14 vehicles 10 av 12, 4 av 14.
I should take comfort in the fact that if I cant find test games for them locally, I should not expect to face them at the local qualifyer.
Yea it has changed alot from back in the day. In 4th ed I was the only person who actually ran mech marines lol.
If you drop the 7 heavy stubbers and a few lascannons you can get the pbs. In this day and age the person who brings the most meltas and flamers is prob going to win.

I was expecting Kill Points, and only one of them is actually determined through kill points alone. The other two use kill points as the tie breaker although you cant get a massacre without winning objectives and kill points.
20 KP at 2500 is not that bad really, high yes but with the trend toward Mech its not like im doubling up on anyone or anything.
Honestly though I have not lost a kill point game yet with them so I dont see it as a problem unless I draw a really bad KP denial list.
The one mission that runs KPs only gives such a bonus for troop heavy armies and hammers the best of marine lists running 3 elites, and 3 fas. Its also devastaingly bad for armies running suicide HQs like Air Cav guard, Lash Prince and the like.
I like them a lot, I will be playing at least 4 test games this weekend so we will see how well things work.

I doubt anyone will be stupid enough to take 2 lash princes because of that 2nd mission

I dont think you will be seeing everyone go mech as previously thought. Most people will prob run a hybrid, especially because you don't have to capture all 5 objectives to win the objective match, just more.

At 2500 its not hard to throw in a cheap objective holding platoon. That frees up your vets from holding objectives and helps defend the tanks from assaults.
I can definitely see a place for an infatry platoon in a mech list with the way the objective missions work now. In the 4 test games I played this weekend the objective missions tended to lead to either dramatic scrums over the center, or last minute assaults to clear objectives.
The Kill point mission was not that bad, but it will be very hard for Mech Vet to get a Massacre on that scenario.
