When you mixed organized with religion, bad things happen. I wasn't allowed to watch ninja turtles and I couldn't publicly express that I played Pokemon because my parents were ministers. WTFever.

You fall under that heading too. Honestly if you banned all three of us half this forums flamewars would disappear and 90% of its spam threads.

Well.. i kinda like everyone on here who is cantankerous. I dont think id come back if you three upped sticks.

it's ok. I'd spend more time here if they did and it would cancel out.

On Topic: I grew up playing DnD. My mom worked for Random House back when they distributed books for TSR. So I got just about every book as it came out. My parents didn't really care. They heard the hype, but figured since I was robbing graves (that they knew of) it was no big deal.

And High school being High School I got the "Satanist" tag because of DnD (this was late 80's early 90's). because 99.9% of high school kids are worthless parasites that don't have the decency to make the world a better place and kill themselves.

That bothered my parents a little bit, more so when they asked me about it and I told them that I couldn't worship an entity that doesn't hate humanity as much as I do.

Than I started listening to bands like Morbid Angel, Mayhem and Deicide*. -that- raised some eyebrows.

*Deicide sucks and glenn Benton is a poser.

*listening to a band from Sweden called "Shining" now*

Says the dude that admits to robbing graves.

Unless of course you were making an inclusive statement, in which case I applaud your self knowledge.

Do you need a hug?

He's right though, 90% of people in high school are complete idiots.

You clearly don't appreciate the irony inherent in that statement.

Agreed. Most high schoolers are worthless slime content to follow the herd and too fearful to make their own opinions, and become effectively brainwashed.

Those that don't get the Satanist, Geek, or Outcast label and can spend the next four years corraled away from everybody else, which has it's ups and downs.

But I digress.

I know a die hard catholic who plays Magic, using only demon or black cards.
It's fickle this hobby of ours.

You know, the Breakfast Club wasn't a documentary.

Edit: Didn't you start a thread about joining a cultural movement?

Irony to be found with high schoolers calling 90% of high schoolers idiots.

90% of adults feel 100% of HS are naive idiots who have it easy compared to when they were in HS, should shut up and realize just how easy life is for you. The other 10% don't care one way or the other about teens and their beliefs or ideals.

My parents were cool about us kids doing stuff. We went to church nearly every sunday up until I was in HS but I was allowed to listen to heavy metal (though at the time I was more mainstream like Metallica) and hard rock (a few hair bands, GNR, ozzy) and I played DND and my parents didn't care so long as it didn't interfere with my homework or schoolwork and that I actually went outside and socialized a little bit (actually preferred to be outside more than being glued to tv).

I love religious nutters. Gives me someone to throw stuff at.

Hey now, agreeing is good.

Not agreeing=problems

problems=bad time

So if you don't agree, you're gonna have a bad time.

I disagree.

I enjoy life more when people don't see eye to eye with me.

That is just how I see the world. I don't care if people agree or not so it's no skin off my derriere if people feel or don't feel the same way.

Not till the end of the year.

So, when you join a cultural movement, you do so entirely of your own free will. But when a different person buys a shirt from Hollister he does so because he's been told to, and not because he likes the shirt.

Right.

The fact that awkward became the new cool should make it pretty obvious that we're all influenced by memes, whether we like it or not.
