There is also the Gecko Riders, who have Box turtle mounts.

Let me just warn you now: Scyzantine will not be a cheap army, but you will get to mount cannons onto the back of tortoises.

An average game is 100 or 200 points, and most models cost 5, 10, or 15 points.

So if you wanted to run nothing but say Badgers, you'd have 10 models per 100 points.

At RECON last weekend we were showing 50 points games with 5 Badgers VS 10 Mice, games would generally take about 20~30 minutes depending on how experienced the players were with wargames in general.

Meant for 10 Mice (30mm Round bases) and 5 Badgers (40mm round bases).

A couple of questions:

1) Where is a model's speed at?

2) If I activate the 5 mice with bows as a squad and keep them within 3" they all stay a single squad until I activate them next turn, correct? So if I chose to activate two together and then three together, they would each stay that way until I activate them next turn (possibly together if w/in 3")?

1) All of a models' stats are listed on the card included with the model. But Mice Conscripts are 4 and Badgers are 5.

2) Correct. Squads reset at the beginning of a turn, allowing you to change up what models are activated together.

So if my group of mice archers got charged at the beginning of a turn before I had decided who was in the squad, I would decide then?

This sounds so cool. The badgers are really appealing at the moment, and the girl might enjoy some mice. Good stuff!

If you get off a turn 1 charge(Which is not an easy thing to do)/ranged attack, models are considered to be in squads by deployment cohesion. So if you went and put 7 mice within 3" of each other, they are considered to be one squad until you activate them.

What you had said a post back is correct when refering to how you activate them, when your being targeted they are considered to be the same squad they were in the previous turn until you activate them.

In this example:

Top of the turn, your openent has 3 badgers charging at your 5 bowmen. You had activated them as a batch of 2 & 3 last turn, so the badgers must choose to charge either the 2 or the 3 man squad, and that squad will be making the charge reaction. With bowmen you'll most likely want to stand and shoot, or flee. lets say stand and shoot. Your two mice do four shots takes to their Bow's special rule and do some damage to the badgers, but not enough to finish them off.

so the badgers finish their charge and slaughter the mice.

Even if they had attacks/damage left over, those three mice in the back could not be touched, as they are a separate squad.

Cool! That adds a really nice tactical element to it and makes it almost a hybrid skirmish/army game. I'll likely be placing an order at the beginning of next week ^_^

The Mongoose Special rule is actually called 'Snake Killer.' Its kinda of like overwatch, but better.

The Chipmunk Weapon Team (Chain Gun and Mortar) are currently being sculpted (Along with the Rat Raiders, Sand Guard, Mole Tactician, and Capybara Capitaine), we're hoping to have them for release at Gencon.

We'll be doing proper starter sets after the rulebook is out in Aug, but any of the Squad boxes can function as a starter.

I probably won't be buying these (One wargame is enough for my highschool wallet), but I still can't wait until you release those Sandguard. Lizard Ottomans? Awesome.

1. Will there be a range that will be easily interchangable with GW's Skaven?

2. Will there be Kangaroo/Wallabys?

3. Lemurs?

4. Prarie Dogs/Meerkats?

5. Raccoons?

6. Squirrels?

1) Rat Raiders could work as proxies for Skaven, they equip Spears & Shields. The models are alittle taller then your standard GW models though.

2-4) Yes, but not right away.

5) Raccoons will be part of the American based faction coming later on. There will be a Raccoon as part of the free Naval Expansion coming at the end of the year.

6) Yes, one variety is in Chugoku (China based faction). They are Flying Squirrels based on the Boxers. The other Variety will be part of Mexico, and are your standard Squirrel.

They should be pretty cool models, very Wuxia. Currently set to be a December release, but could be moved up depending on how well Brushfire does at Gencon and beyond.


So make sure if you attend Gencon this year to stop by, give it a go, grab some swag, and then when you get home tell your LGS they need to carry Brushfire
