To those arguing about the validity of "boob marines" let me clue you in a real marine. With boobs. Lisa Marie Bickels. She's probably the closest thing to a space marine candidate the fairer sex has put forward. Try to imagine powerarmor over this frame, and no boobage? Comeon:

Paperhammer40K FTW!

@Lord Manimal: PROTIP: Comparing humans to Astartes = Not Work

@Corennus: Sisters have not been brought up once in this thread so far, so I dunno where you got that from.

@JDM: Or I could lol. If people rage over the mini then the desired effect was achieved.

Terrible, someone with a Franken Fran avatar should not be inciting people to rage over minis.

Hehe... I'm just playing around. Though seriously; I don't really respond to rage over something as trivial as 40k minis with counter rage, nor do I take it seriously. It's the internet man! I am far more likely to laugh it off then I am to get into a fit over it. It is why I approached this model with 'lol female marines' in mind, rather then 'srs biznis female marines'. That comment was me merely poking fun at the unique ability to create drama and rage that the female marine possesses.

And really; if you can't hold your cool in a Warhammer Discussion Forum whilst talking about model soldiers, then God help you mah son.

That being said...this actually looks pretty good. Setting aside the issue of the validity of female marines, and focusing on the actual execution of modeling one, this is a really good job. I don't think that any rank-and-file femmarine would receive specially tailored armor. (Although one who had achieved some rank might.) Nor do I think the World Eaters are going to stop and hammer out breasts shapes into their chestpieces. Since she already has had several dozen extraneous organs implanted into her body, as well as undergone severe physical augmentation, genetic alteration, and psychological brainwashing, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say she's taping down her breasts. I am not a huge fan of truescale, but this is definitely a good showpiece. I think it will look much better painted, though, and I will keep checking back for updates.

Pretty good, but something overall just smacks odd about it. Like you said it's not done so when the next iteration is revealed I shall probably be happy. I do agree though, Kharn is in fact a pretty fun guy to be around.

To be honest, I seriously doubt female marines would have any breasts at all. The skeleton and muscle expansion combined with all them drugs and treatments would logically make them flat as a plank. Though they would probably have giant manly pecks, so they could wear a bra on them and pretend, lol I dunno.

Then again, I never worry about breasts when I make female troops. I kinda just give them the same sort of armour and stuff as everyone else. Though if this had been a blood angel with one of them moulded chest pieces, I would have given it boob/peck thingies. Or something.

To be honest with how the whole process works I think a female who underwent it all would suffer reduced breast size so the armour being basicly the same is spot on. All the changes to grow muscle etc, would reduce body fat probably and so on would certainly have some kind of effect like that. As for the hips again since the skeleton undergoes changes possibly slight different but as the subject grows and broadens wouldn't it even out overall hence leaving only the face really to have some sort of feminine features?
Since you've thought of this yourself the way you've built her looks spot on, look forward to seeing more pics as you do more work on her.

Ugh.

AGAIN - take the 'fluff' discussions about female marines to the appropriate forum.

Sorry, alpharius, but as soon as someone models one, the debate re-surges to the surface. In all honesty, you'd never be able to get anything commented about them at all other then to have someone say 'nice sculpt' or 'look how crisp that resin is!"

Can you chaps like stop resserecting this thread every month? I mean, nothing is going to happen here for a while. There is no point in dredging it up all the time. Seriously, I haven't had this problem with all the other forums this is on. Are female marines seriously that enthralling to Dakkites?

Then again, that female ork thread killed all hope for me...

Here is why I like it that you didn't give her power boobs.

That is a female soldier wearing body armor, the equivalent of a guardsmen's flak armor. It completely hides her breasts. Power armor is even more massive and completely obscures the body's shape. You're not going to see boobs on the armor.

With all the comments about congratulations for not giving her a huge chest I think you have gone way too far the other way. she has no hips.

In fact her proportions would be out male or female, if you allow for the armour bulk this person is really lanky. More like power armoured air caste tau than human. Think of how spindly her arms legs hips and thighs must be to fit into that suit.

Actually, it isn't all that hard.

I could start handing out warnings and/or suspensions to people who ignore moderator posts to not debate the existence or possibility of Female Space Marines in the P&M forums and instead do that in the 'right' places.

I could do that...

For a project where the Female body is the main focus all you really seems to be add a female head. Now for being truescale, yeah kudos.

Actually, the constant resurgence of the FSM thread on dakka has more to do with dakka not erasing the threads and banning/warning anyone who posted in them (right place or not). So, we should all do what alpharius says and post in the right area, because it's a lot more liberal here then other those 40k forums, and you may note that I did not name the forums that I am referring to, in respect to the posting rules.
