Just a few years ago the official GW daemonettes came compete with "finely sculpted tits", too...in some cases multiple pairs of breasts even.

now they make flat chested transvestites with crazy hair cuts

Now, see that's what I love about Dakka. The thread almost stayed on topic for a whole page! Thanks for looking in any case.

Now, about the breasts, if its that bothersome. I will happily sculpt a detach-able bikini top. Consider it done.

On the head, started sculpting with her skull, on a 7 head tall figure. I think the horns and "jersey" hair make it look bigger.

That said, I take this as a challenge. You want smaller heads? Done. You want cow heads and fiend heads? While not my thing... if you want one that way pm me. Buy, the model and I'll convert it virtually any way you want! If the conversion is a simple one its free.

Some one asked about availability. Since I own the molds and the originals. I can always cast more, so don't worry. Anyone who wants one will have one.

Now that the shameless whoring is out of the way. A couple of points. While money is always nice, this model was not made to be sold. It came about because of my love for this hobby and chaos in particular. I'm putting them out there, because people kept asking for them. Honestly, it tickles me to death that people like looking at my poor attempts at sculpting. Never mind wanting to buy any of it.

Anyway, watch this space.

Honestly, its a beautiful model, though a bikini top would be nice so I could actually use it at my GW stores.

Appreciate your noticing of the head being a bit too large.

"poor attempts at sculpting"? I think not.

How does it scale vs 54mm (Inquisitor scale) models?

I'd love to use it as a daemonette (I'd leave off the wings) for Inquisitor.

Oh please, quit being intentionally modest. You know just as well as we do that you could give most guys at GW a run for their dough. I'd say that if they were smart, they'd swap the guys currently responsible for the gawdawful Slaanesh line out for you instead. Your stuff is certainly superior to what's out there, and actually gives players a chance to develop an entire army devoted to one god while still using the standard Daemon codex. That's more than anything GW can claim.

Karon:

You flatter me. I'll post up pics of the bikini top tomorrow, I'll do three that way you can pick the one you like best. Want a spiky armored breast plate, hey I'll do that too.

Waaagh_Gonads:

People still play Inquisitor? Kidding...kidding... I have a box of the models somewhere as well. She's 4.5 inches tall vs the 2 inch height of the Inquisitor models. So, a bit more that twice there size. I do plan on making two different Slaaneshi herald models and they will be 54 mm scale. I'll be sure to post them up when ready.

Ironwright:

Daemon Princesses:

The second and third Daemon princesses are getting molded this weekend, so they'll be up Monday, hopefully.

Male Keeper of Secrets:

The big Keeper is a much bigger model and the mold will be more complex to build. The size would make it expensive, but a friend of mine is advising me on hollow casting it. So it might end up using 2/3rds less resin, with a resulting reduction in cost. That I will be sure to pass along. Hopefully, buy the end of June.

Soulgrinder:

The Soul Grinder has lots of parts so it will take a bit longer, that and I still have to workout what to do with the power source.

Wyrms:

These I can cast any time. Want them let me know.

Bits & Pieces:

Wings and stuff? Just ask!

Later!

If I could sculpt this well, I would put my results into production immediately.

However, apart from LGS/GW stores, there are many more venues with mature-aged gamers who would welcome this on the tabletop... not all gamers are PG/12yo and coddled until they are married and buy a home to have 2.5 children in...

Regarding Sersi's models:
I think your sculpting is fantastic and easily better than what I am able to do at the moment. However, this model is IMHO the least impressive of your works. I can't figure out what it's supposed to be doing in that pose. Still, this is leagues better than GW's model and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff go up for sale. Keep at it!

Regarding Ostrakon's fear of boobies:
I don't see anything wrong with exposed breasts on a model if they are appropriate to the context, and these are very appropriate to the context. You may live your life in fear of random encounters with offended parents, but thankfully many of us don't have that problem.

I think if nothing else, the fact that these breasts are at least somewhat feasible is to be applauded.

I'm not sure I get how this isn't "tasteful". It's just naked breasts, that's it. She's not doing anything "inappropriate", just lunging forward with her clawed hand out and no top on.

It just makes me think that there is no such thing as "tasteful" in the mind of people like Ostrakon because the presence of nudity at all seems to be the problem. You can't make it more "tasteful" without covering it all up.

Is there something wrong with the body God gave you?

I would buy this model if I had a use for it (and once the head is down to size, and it comes with a attachable bra so If I did have a use for it, I COULD use it) but I don't.

I know everyone likes to jokingly call miniatures "toys", but I wouldn't say it's okay for bare tits on an actual toy. Miniatures are more like little works of art, so I'm a little more accepting of nudity.

I think it's funny how insecure some of you guys are, leaping to defend your god-given right to big-titted, bare-chested, lobster-clawed avatars of a fictional hermaphrodite.

I don't have a problem with nudity. I love boobs. I just think there's an appropriate place for them, and wargames aren't one of those places.

I mean, don't you think playing with hand-painted toy soldiers is socially stigmatic enough as it is? You really want to throw OP's sculpt into the mix? There's having pride in being a nerd - and I'll happily step up to defend my hobbies to any detractors - but there's a point where you really have to stop and think about what you're doing, and how other people are going to perceive it.

It's kind of like showing up to a job interview wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Chances are, an employer doesn't care too much about the fine details of whatever attire you're going to be wearing, and will focus on your skills. But it's not the fact that you're not wearing a properly tailored suit, but rather the apparent fact that you think it's appropriate to show up to an interview in casual attire, which is going to make you seem kind of daft.

I could care less about the mini itself. It's actually very well-done. And if I invited someone to my house to play on my table in a nice private game and they fielded it, I don't have a problem with it whatsoever. But if you plop this thing down at a LGS, it just makes you look like a sexually dysfunctional moron. Whether you agree with them or not, there are some basic standards of decency society expects you to adhere to, and going out of your way to break them doesn't make you more mature - if anything, it makes you seem like a petulant rebel wannabe.

I understand what your saying, Ostrakon. We are already perceived as sexually-foreign, socially awkward fools, why would you make that worse by making us look like completely fethed up.

But again, miniatures are a work of art. Within the context of Slaanesh, I have no problem with this, and you shouldn't either. Its a fething gigantic daemonic entity with LOBSTER CLAWS as hands. The boobs just had to the realism of the model. Would you rather it just have man-nips with piercings? That would be rather boring, as that's done to death.

So, for Slaanesh, its perfectly acceptable for the odd pair of breasts and such, but if you plop down an army of female catachans all with big racks, I may have to kill you for the sake of humanity.

Acceptable for you or me, as a work of art? Absolutely fine. Like I said, the mini itself isn't offensive.
Acceptable for the table? Not really.

And dude, who cares if the model has boobs hanging out? It fits the background.

You should have seen the thread a few years back where the guy modeled giant, erect penises on all of his Slanesh Soul Grinders, hahaha, not THAT was funny! They had nipple rings with chains, too! Class, all the way! haha.

Seriously Ostrakon? At your house this model is fine and a work of art, but if in public, the owner of said mini is "a sexually dysfunctional moron"? What about a model with breasts makes someone sexually dysfunctional?

If this model had dragon heads vomitting carrion into a writhing pile of nurglings on the base, you would be fine with it, as long as nothing on the model had tits. That's just wrong. With the amount of ultra-violence in this game, this model actually seems a little mundane to me.

Just to answer your questions:

"I mean, don't you think playing with hand-painted toy soldiers is socially stigmatic enough as it is?"
No. This has actually become a great way to stay connected with friends from college for me, and has actually landed me a job before at an electroplating company.

"You really want to throw OP's sculpt into the mix? "

I don't see why not. When you look at CONTEXT, this model is fine. This model doesn't have breasts for the sake of breasts. Like the crab claws, they establish this creature as a demon prince/princess of slaanesh. It's kind of messed up you are so offended by breasts that you have this reaction.

Do you remember that video game that came out years ago, with the female characters of this fighting game all thrown onto an island to play beach volleyball, and the whole point of the game was to show off a physics engine that jiggled enormous tits? THAT game gave me the same reaction you are having to this model. But you have to be able to distinguish tasteful accents that are in line with a theme, and obvious coddling of post-pubescent but socially inept basement-dwellers. I mean, we aren't going to put underpants on the statue of David because kids might walk by. . .

Take a look through the range of slaanesh models on GW.
You will find that 99% do have tits, and they are hanging out.
If you find this wrong then maybe find something else to play since GW started the concept, its origional, and the model is simply based from it.

God forbid you ever hear of the game called Battle Raper or RapeLay (ahhh the Japanese... haha). Oops!

Seriously though... Like I said in a previous post. How can some people think that war, death, destruction and all the stuff that goes along with it are okay, but a little bit of (daemon) skin is completely wrong? It's like if someone gave you the choice between boobs and death, you would choose death.

It just doesn't make any sense. Mind you I'm not saying that you NEED to accept it; just that there's no point in getting so worked up over it. Especially if it's not even your model! If your opponent plays it, YOU KILL IT so he removes it. Bam problem solved without acting like a douche balloon.

Sersi: I find it awesome that you're going to be resculpting things like the head (and a bra for those that can't fathom the concept of Slaanesh). Even though you're not doing this as a job/career I always thought community involvement is always the most important aspect of well... anything. I mean look at Valve. They are my favourite gaming company because they listen to their fans (except when they said to boycott L4D2 and EVERYONE ended up buying it anyways but that's a different story altogether). So anyways, good on you for that!

There are issues of context and situation. I could use that model to great acclaim at one store in my area, get the stinkeye at another, and be asked to leave at a third.

Don't be the guy to bring your boob-demon to a place that doesn't approve. It's not classy or noble.

Actually I have heard of RapeLay, and I'm way more okay with that than the kind of people who would field this mini. At least RapeLay players have the decency not to play it in public. (Presumably anyway.)
