Huge compliment!
Neil: I'm not sure which game you're referring to. I've just always liked the name Fortescue and wanted to give him a posh name that wouldn't suit him.

Ok well these photos have made me realise the amount of cleaning up I need to do on this guy and the amount of things I forgot to paint, which I guess is a good thing in the end!
I was originally going to call this guy Ghostface Killer, and he was going to have a really white face but then I strayed off my path (second time I've done that with a kroot model!). Maybe I'll call this one Ol' Dirty B@&$£%d instead
I guess this guy would work as a counts-as ratskin or bounty hunter or something if I ever actually game.
Always hard to see what their poses look like in real life in photos but I wanted to capture the animalistic, dexterous side of the kroot a bit more than the stock poses do:
Gave him a lekku and an extended tail:
Few things I'm really pleased with on this side of the model; lens on the rifle, blue energy glow from the rifle and ridiculously small free-hand work on the gas canister on the base:

More lovely gribbly thingies
Love the pose, with the tail and that paint job ODB has a real ampnibian vibe to him. The markings on the skin are very nice, whole guy oozing character.

Very creepy and disturbing stuff. I'd shoot at any of those models on sight.
I read this from the beginning, another thread that I'm wondering how I missed until now. Your vision is bizarre (that is offered as a compliment) and your sculpting is amazing. Going to check out your gallery after I post this.

You have perfectly recreated an amphibian skin effect on this chap. The lense is bob on too.
Like with Mr. Fortescue, and all the gang in fact, its the little details on the base I like looking for. The cannister and raised platform on this chap, the beautifully painted metal on Forty.
I relish coming into this blog in hopes of finding something new because it never disappoints.

I'm loving that base. Excellent free hand on that gas tank/fire extinguisher. Overall, the model is great. Wonderful pose allows you to feel the movement of this kroot as he slinks through the underhive. Really like it! Great job!

Thanks very much folks. The compliments are really motivational! I'll Should be going back home to blighty for a couple of weeks (weather permitting).
Can't quite remember what state my modelling bits are in at home but maybe I'll be able to do some stuff in my break.
In the mean time: what is this seemingly normal, young woman doing hanging out with a bunch of scavvies?! I'll give you a clue, there's something hidden beneath that box of drill bits...
This is just a very basic concept sketch to get her pose right but hopefully the finished model will have a lot of character.

Wow I just found this P&M blog and it is really amazing! I can't wait to see how that women turns out!
the kroot is great, by far my favorite out of your models just due to the unique and dramatic pose he is in. it really has an animal quality to it, but also a grim-dark, edgy quality with the way the base is made. An animal in a ruined wasteland haha. love it!
can we have a group shot of the models so far?

Yet to get through reading this whole blog, but absolutely amazing sculpting, and I love your art style. reminds me of Jamie Hewlett (of Tank Girl and Gorillaz fame) and a very odd one-off tv show they made based on his work called Phoo Action, now a rare find online...

Heeeyyyyyyyyy! Long time no see everyone!
And I have an update. But first a bit of an update on my life (scroll down if you want!): So basically, some of you may remember that I used to have a little Japanese flag next to my name. I was, until a couple of weeks ago, living in Japan teaching English. I was living in a city just to the east of Tokyo and I was still there when the earthquake hit. It was definitely scary and I felt it very strongly but our city wasn't damaged and no-one in that area got hurt. I stayed for a couple of days enduring the aftershocks (very stressful) but then decided to leave the country first of all because the nuclear stuff started to happen, but also because I was really disappointed with the lack of information coming from head office (I was unhappy with my company anyway).
Anyway, now I'm back in England, at my parents' house trying to plan what to do next. In September I'll hopefully be going back to uni to study to become a teacher but right now I'm looking for a job, hopefully in Bristol to tide me over. One bonus of this situation is that I've a lot of free time to do things like paint models!
On to the model! I'd based up this little gretchin guy while I was still in Japan (I managed to bring my models home) and yesterday I was torn between keeping him as a grot for my rebels or converting him to join my scavvie gang. Q0rbin's gnoblar and PDH's gretchin gimp conversions convinced me to turn him into a midget scavvie. Plus my scavvie gang is seriously lacking in numbers!!!
I left a lot of my modelling supplies in Japan (I had to pack very quickly) so although I had my models I didn't have any greenstuff or glue or anything but I had plenty of paints and brushes. I had to make his bandana out of a different putty called magic sculp that isn't so easy to use on such a small scale. This guy's really tiny, not even 2cm.
Sorry that's a lot of writing! Here he is:
Any ideas for names?
My next model (once I've gotten some gs) is going to be a conversion of the games day chaos sorceror. This guy:
NOT MY PAINTING
NOT MY PAINTING
Any ideas on how to Necromunda him up? I think I'll leave him more or less how he is but I think I should add some bits of guitar string and stuff to him...
