Brandt, I'm a bit confused. You have a pre-registrant ticket for the 2011 40k GT and a registration ticket for the GT. Which am I supposed to purchase? I did email you about a pre-registration slot and you responded back I have a space. Have I missed my chance to offically pay for a spot?

Sarge - send me an e-mail. Pre-registrants were all sent e-mails today, so either I don't have yours properly, or the e-mail to you got caught in a filter or something.

Mine is set for payment tonight. Wife stole the comp last night so I just barely read the email this morning before work. Honestly after last year the cost is a steal for the amount of gaming and quality of the event.

Looking forward to meeting some more east coast Dakkites! One of the best parts of tournaments is meeting new people and seeing old friends.

Looking forward to it!

So, we formally have paid attendees from Scotland ... and some of the people who pre-registered haven't taken advantage of their earlybird yet ... should; 40k GT will probably sell out.

Fully open registration begins in one week for all systems.

Judging on how early the Adepticon one sold out and the fact that your starting so early I'd heartily recommend grabbing your spot fast. This was one of the best tournaments I've been to in years and can't wait for this year!

I took the advice, paid homage to the powers that be (wife) and signed up. I look forward to meeting as many new folks as possible and having some great games.

See you in August (or maybe some of you sooner at the SVDM if I bribe the wife with pandora charms)

Team Tournament and Open GT registration will open today.

Team Tournament details in brief (will update the main post shortly with everything):

Friday, August 26, 2011
3-Player Teams, 3 Rounds, 7 Games

Each team's players must bring the following all from the same Codex:
1,500 Point Army (and all required models)
2,000 Point Army List (and all required models)
1,000 Point Split FOC List (1 HQ, 1-3 Troop, 0-1 Elite/Fast/Heavy) (and all required models)

Presuming Players A, B, and C on a team, here is how the rounds will work:

Round 1:
Player A(1,000 point)/B(1,000 point) T1 vs. Player A(1,000 point)/B(1,000 point) T2
Player C (1,500 point) T1 vs. Player C (1,500 point) T2

Round 2:
Player A (2,000 point) T1 vs. Player A (2,000 point) T2
Player B (2,000 point) T1 vs. Player B (2,000 point) T2
Player C (2,000 point) T1 vs. Player C (2,000 point) T2

Round 3:
As Round 1

The pairings won't necessarily be fixed at A vs A, AB vs AB, etc.; ther'ell be a selections and choice process to it, but we're tweaking. TT prices should come in at $70 for a team, $25 for an Individual, and we'll trio up Individuals.

I was just looking at the registration page- is there a typo on the 40k pre-registrant entry, where it's listed as $265 (rather than $65?).

http://novaopen.com/?page_id=11

Also, do you know when the fantasy registration will likely begin?

The pre-registration rate is coupon coded, to ensure pre-registrants only could sign up. They all received a coupon code discounting it $200.

Regular registration will open today, at the printed rate.

Fantasy registration is coming; the Fantasy organizers are still squaring away all their details to ensure the best possible product quality.

I'm pretty sure you'll land yourself one before long Rich, Conflict was grueling with a lot of solid players and armies.

The ones I was looking at attending in the near future with invites:

SVDM
The Big Show (I think this is the name of the event happening in July)

I'm guessing there are others on the horizon that might get invites as well in our locality, such as Battle for Blob's park

Were Colonial or Crossroads possibilities?

I'm at the registration page looking stuff over and have some questions.

1. Do I need to buy a weekend pass? Am I automatically in due to previous exploits?

2. The 40k invitational: Do I need to buy a ticket to that, or do I automatically get a ticket due to qualifying events?

3. Is there a cost associated with the Whiskey Challenge?

I was expecting 50-60, and I see $150 in registration fees ahead of me. ><

From what I understand Justin your just paying for the actual 2-day GT cost. Your weekend pass and Invitational are covered. As there is no cost for the invitational and the weekend pass is free for invitational holders. Mike mentioned that earlier when I asked about the what if I pull and invite do I get a refund for the pass or just $35 in beer. He told me the refund and I was sad

I just talked to him on the phone - being a qualifier means that I don't have to buy the weekend pass, but I still had to buy the invitational ticket and the GT ticket. In order to use the invitational ticket, you have to qualify for the invitational though.

So if I'm not sure if I can make it should I totally buy my ticket now and then decide if I'm actually going later?

I'm only partially joking.

Well, I can't easily manage refunds (save for emergencies/family issues/etc.), but if we sell out (and it looks as if we will), you could probably sell your ticket to the next fella on the wait list with little issue.

It would be exceptional to have you there ... but it's probably a daunting trip to plan so far out.

Yak, it was great last year, and this year looks to topple that one easily.

It's better to regret what you have done than what you haven't.

Pre-registered and then finalized everything yesterday. Looking forward to this as it will be my first major tourney with my wolves fully painted. Kart went last year and had nothing but good things to say.

With this and Adepticon selling out so far in advance I hope other people take notice and add another well run major event for this year or the next. Looking forward to playing some of the top players in the East.

See you guys this summer.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

Well, with Adepticon, we've got a mid-America event, NoVA has the east... It sounds like either the Left Coast (or VEGAS) has to step up.

I prefer Vegas.
