Well amongst all this love going on for these mats, I am not a happy camper.

I ordered a simple Gladiator mat over 2 months ago and nothing. No response to any email I have sent, no mat , nothing. First order and this is how a customer is treated.

Now I see Mr. Hotz on these boards responding to all the new things he is selling, and I cant even get a response to an email about my order. NOT happy.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I just got a response from Mr. Hotz today. He apologized and is working on fixing the problem. I look forward to seeing this getting resolved. I will post final disposition.

Well I will say that Mr hotz is a man of his word. He contacted me a little after this post and my Email was sent. He aplogized, got right to work on the mat and sent me a note when it was shipped. I just got it today.

The mat is just as advertised. Well printed and shippeded safely. The box a bit worse for wear though. But the map was safe and secure. If this had arrived when i thought it would be originaly I woudl very happy. Right now I am mearly pleased. I will try one more order, when funds allow, and if it goes the way it should I will be an enthusiastic supporter of these mats. Time will tell.

Thank you again Mr Hotz for finally getting this straightened out and I am willing to give you another shot.

Always keep in mind that this is literally a garage company with every mat being hand made. Takes quite a while to fill all orders, but it is worth the wait.

Is Hotz still in business? I've placed an order a month ago. I have not received it. He's not replying to emails.

That's normal procedure. It is only one man, a garage, a spray gun and lots of orders to fill. So a bit of patience is required.

It would be cool if there were a planet hex mat that's shaped like the gladiatorial arenas. They could be used for Warhammer 40k campaigns instead of using Planetary Empires tiles.

I tried communicating with Eric a few months ago about some mats, and he was responsive for the first few email exchanges. However, after I'd received a quote, I never heard back from him. Seems like he needs a better way of keeping track of who he's communicated with, and what the customers' status is.

Turns out he missed out on my business when another mat manufacturer announced a return of a previously hard to find and out of print terrain mat. I may look at his fields again at some point, but he missed a sale of several 6'x4' mats due to a lack of communication on his end. Kind of disappointing I guess.

I was going by the timeline Eric Hotz himself had specified. On his website, he says

"We should contact you to confirm your order within 3 days of purchase".

I never received any order confirmation. I patiently waited 2 weeks, and sent an email. No reply. After a month, I was getting very worried.

But I did finally receive an email from Eric today, saying my order is complete and will ship on Monday.
