Sorryif I wasn't "paying attention"...:/

Still, for those convinced you can't model at 6mm..

Also look at...

Obviously the detail isn't all there, but hopefully people can see it IS possible...

So cool. thats angron and a bloodthirster right? Ooh and the space crusade model dreadnoughts the banelord looks good too.
I think that army is a good example of, detail not great (though i think you've done a really good job on the bigger models) but as an ARMY they look really good.

For me, it's better because it's just a 40K addendum.
No new rule sets to learn. easier to find a game of it than Epic.
Also, I can use my existing stuff and don't have to buy new models/armies.

Epic represents larger battles than Apoc usually does, though.

I guess I need to point out that none of these models are mine. I just wanted to show what could be done in 6mm scale. I'm glad you like them

That would be utterly Epic.

Those are, just like you said, robots. You had to write the flowchart programs for each unit. They didn't exist after RT, 2nd edition nerffed 'em. They were fun while they lasted.

Because Apoc lets me give ludicrous sums of money to GW? Seriously, I'll never pay $100 for a special rulebook to let me buy hundreds more dollars worth of models. Ever.
Have heard the idea suggested of playing Epic or using the Epic scale models for Apoc but I still ain't buying that book.

None of that is modelling though. It's all painted, yes. Painted well too. The closest there is to the level of modelling that goes on in 40k is the Titan. The rest is just based and painted. At the tank and infantry level, they're too small to do anything interesting with.

As much as I have fond memories of epic, posting mini's produced over a decade ago isn't that impressive. I'd LOVE to see some close ups of the GD winner, but I may not have looked in the right place. There were some truly garbage looking models in that link though. In the pictured army the only piece that I'd even attempt conversion on would be the titan and the deamon. The rest are simply too small to use a scalpel, knife, or dremel on....and you are limited in the extreme by only using files.

With current injection molding technology you could get some fairly decent looking mini's, but painting the nose on a 6 mm infantryman really sucks.

The suggestion of 15mm Epic is absolutely genius! However Apoc is a huge money maker. I see cats buying 4 box sets at a time and then just slapping them together with glue so they can do a 3 stage paintjob and stuff a hundred mini's on the table. Makes me somewhat nauseated.

Sorry for falling into the modelling v painting trap....I actually thought the chaos army had quite a lot of conversion in it;sorry if I was wrong..

This isn't some sort of plot to get everyone to play Epic. If you don't like it ,don't play it. If you like Apoc because you prefer to use the figs you colect anyway, fair enough. I was just a bit curious.

The 15mm idea is, actually, brilliant and just the sort of thing that could be planned to conincide with an Epic re-launch. Makes a lot of armies obselete though-that's my only gripe (although those of us happy to play at 6mm cold just use Ebay, as we've done for years...)

When did I say I didn't like Epic? I love the system. I just find the models to be a tad too small to indulge the modelling side of the hobby.
