Orcs vs. OK.

I manage to charge into his scraplauncher with a orc unit (using a waagh spell) where I have craftily hidden my shaman with the bigged boots and, tadaaa, skull wand of kaloth.

Well, I managed to miss both attacks and both rerolls.

Last week, my DE vs Empire.

two turns of cautious movement somehow resulted in massive cluster combat involving every regiment on the board. I unfortunately was on the receiving end of several nasty charges (lance equipped knights, Flagellants etc) and rolled badly (even by my abysmal standard) this resulted in a lost combat for me.

I only lost by one or two but in the end that didn't matter. My Corsairs were wiped out by the Flagellants and the rest of my army ran away thanks to 3 consecutive double sixes. My horde of 40 warriors (complete with lvl 2 wizard) were ran down.

The only survivors of that massacre were my bolt thrower crew and 16 crossbow elves. In my next turn I rolled to rally and promptly rolled a pair of elevens, both units ran of the board.

Given the hammering my magic and shooting had given the Empire army in the first two turns that really was a case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. :(

Land of Lincoln

In a game versus orcs yesterday, a lone orc shaman casts Waaagh! and drives everybody forward. the shaman ended up moving into contact with a unit of my witches which had Crone Hellebron in it. 'nuff said

In the same game, a tricked out warboss accepted a challenge from Crone. i landed three wounds and he failed all three ward saves, the poor warboss never even got to fight back. made me happy, not the orc player though lol

Two vs two, Ogres+Dwarves vs Vampire Counts+Warriors of Chaos, 1250 pts per army (so 2500 vs 2500 total).

Actually a mix of total dice luck from my side (I was the Ogre player) and total dice fail from the enemies.

First round: Vampire general tries VanHel´s to bring his GG horde into relative safety, double 6 on two dice (maybe three, not that sure), Vampire general blows up and takes most of the unit he was in with him.

Second round: WoC player placed his first unit of Chaos Knights in range of my allies Organ Gun by mistake, artillery dice shows a ten, 6 wounds, no armor save met. First unit of Knights goes down in a hail of bullets and gunpowder.

Third round: Second unit of Knights fails at the charge, again in range of the Organ Gun, same situation as in the second turn. Same result.
Additionally the gw armed khorne marauder horde of the WoC player charges my 7 Iron Guts + Tyrant, fails to do more than two wounds, gets 7 or 8 wounds in return, fails the break test and runs. Gets overrun by my Guts.

Fourth round: By now we had decided that the dice gods were completely drunk and called it a day. Decided not to count that game in our tally.

Well, yeah. Worst case of bad luck I´ve ever seen. We used the same dice, so it couldn´t have been them.

The game will be replayed next weekend, and I guess there will be many offerings to the dice gods beforehand.

One I saw last night, VC vs. Skaven

The Skaven's WLC was off on it's own, the VC player had deployed his Vargulf opposite it, to obviously go eat it. WLC is right against the board edge, so it will take the Vargulf three turns to actually reach the WLC. The WLC therefore get three shots against it. Should be plenty, right?

First shot, first roll goes perfectly, the shot hits the ground about an inch and a half in front of the Vargulf... and gets stuck there.
Second shot goes nicely... and rolls a 2 for the strength of the attack.
Third shot at POINT BLANK RANGE... rolls an 8 on the shot distance and overshoots.

Now the Vargulf finally gets to eat the cannon, right?

WRONG! He totally fluffs all his attacks. The WLC holds for another round before the monster manages to eat one of the crew and chase it off the board.

End result? Cannon does nothing but tie up the Vargulf; the Vargulf accomplishes nothing except chasing off the cannon.

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!
My job here is done.

Also, a guy takes 3 warpfire throwers in his skaven list. Fires the first one: misfire, splode. Fires the second one: misfire, run into the third one on the scatter, splode them both. A unit of clanrats panic and run through some gutter runners, who also panic. Lulz ensue.

Classic Skaven moment lol

Once more down to the beach, dear friends, once more,
To drown our sorrows with our English beer!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of alcohol blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood.
