More progress. Squad Lorenzo is pretty much done. Going to try to finish the sergeant this week, should hopefully get Claudio and the Librarian done next week. Having some issues with the paintwork on the brass etch, will probably drybrush it up a bit to give it some more variation in tone.

The sweetness of these models cannot be denied!

Looking at Zael, SC2's "Feel the burn!" just springs to mind.

Lorenzo done. Quite pleased with the OSL on the sword and face here. Also quite pleased with the hair - it's more complex than it looks...:

Did you airbrush the sword or just wet blend?

Really nice models.
Only thing i don't like very much is the bases.... They are space Hulk Terminators, but will jungle/shurb bases. They are done nicely. I just don't like the idea behind the basing, but you can ignore that, it doesn't really matter

I have to disagree with rodgers37,

I Love those bases! It not often I see jungle/forest bases but these are masterfully done!

On something like the sword it's quicker and easier to wet blend. To airbrush you'd have to mask each side and go through several mixes, before using those same mixes again to edge highlight. The client specifically asked for a hand finish on characters, so the airbrush was just used for the initial zenithal guide coat. This was then overpainted with many successive glazes to get a smooth layer-blended result with a richer colour.

The bases do actually need a little more work in breaking up the uniform green colour of the ground cover. A few drops of runny wash here and there should soak in nicely.

I don't even want to think about how much that's costing him - a space hulk set on top. Yeesh!

Excellent work though. Models are so detailed, just a shame they weren't non-specific as far as chapters go. :(

For the sake of reference (and without being too specific) the cost of this commission is some way north of £600. Just to be clear, these aren't my usual tabletop style. :-)

Well, talent does cost, and you do indeed have it by the sackload!

Current WIPs on this commission. Been building up to trying to OSL highlight the freehand on the Librarian's shoulder pad. Some tweaks needed on Claudio too - notably on the right claw OSL.

Ok, bar the basing, I think these guys are done. Strengthened the OSL on the axe and worked around the freehand on the shoulder. Touched up OSL on the claws. Once these are based, I'll revist all of the terminators with a few pigment washes to knock back that bright green foliage and give it some variation, then it's varnishing time.

And they're done. I've washed back the foliage on all the bases so it's not so 'Aiee! My eyes!' green. Pretty pleased with the libby. Should get the varnish on tomorrow assuming I can dig out the airbrush without melting (hot weather makes a conservatory studio room unpleasant).

The basing turned out excellent, and the osl on the libby is fantastic, way to make it through!

Super awesome paint job! The light effects are amazing. Also I'm surprised how well the librarian's steps work in with the jungle basing. Great work.
