warboss wrote:sillly privateer press! that's not how you deal with customers! if you want to grow as big as GW, you need to stop publishing heartfelt letters to your customers and switch to semiannual investor reports in which you blame your woes on random and/or contradictory factors... and then propose the same solution (raise prices!) while saying the forcast is rosey year after year of falling sales. duh!!

Don't bother Warboss. I mean, PP is showing off previews of these upcoming giant walkers and tanks. Yes - actual previews. It's almost as if they have some sort of marketing strategy. It's despicable!

They should be telling us nothing whilst simultaneously writing tactics and hobby articles that are nothing but poorly veiled attempts to sell products. That's the proper way to be a miniature war gaming company. GW's yearly results show that!

Privateer doesn't. They empty their warehouse and take all their employees with them to GenCon.

Or at least that's the impression I got from Mikhaila's post.

At least they go to Gen-Con...

Funny you mention that, just yesterday I was thinking to myself... Since I decided to follow with more attention the PP new stuff man oh man its a neverending stream of news, Concept art, Miniatures, previews etc etc etc Its like the oposite of what GW been doing and its very rewarding not to have to read, search, hunt down pityfull bits of rumours to just find a little hint of whats coming...

Not only that but a preview presentation is delivered in a much more professional way than say... actual new mini releases from GW... With nice concepts all cleaned up and or renders...( with nice webdesign and actually a official forum for fans with feedback from the man behind PP)... miniatures with 3d rotations.

The only stinker on PP website is the store but at least they have a bitz service.

So yes quite refreshing.

hey, you're part of the ineffective hype machine now! you're a cog in the vast GW conspiracy to not market stuff ahead of time! you know details about the GK codex and aren't sharing it, JUST like GW! you've become what you despise most... it's all very mafia/sith-esque in a way.

Now, here I am a few years into collectiong PP figs. I have probly 200 of them, and have traded off another 100 or so. And I have yet to see a single instance of a misaligned or flawed cast. The little flash that there is removes easily with a hobby knife. Never have I needed to use a file on a PP miniature.

Wow, you must have gotten the best 200 figs ever then. I have painted up 4 armies for PP games and tons of figs have had serious casting issues. Huge mold lines, horrible gaps and misalignments, and more.

I've got about 200 PP figs and I've also had almost no issues whatsoever with their quality. Now, all of those have been collected in the last 9 months or so, so maybe it's because I'm getting their newer production.

Mold lines are few or easily dealt with, and I don't think I've used greenstuff to fill gaps on anything save for two Khador warjacks.

I'm gettin dangerously close to completely fillin my warmachine battlefoam bag and the only mispacked fig I've gotten was a blister of Deathrippers that came with an Extra leg. Nothing that was msmolded or bad mold lines or anything like that.

Mind you I've only ever had three GW products that were mispacked or mismolded as well in the decade plus I've played their games.

Psst, this is a secret ploy to lure Navarro into supporting Privateer Press, and we all know what happens to games and companies that are supported by Navarro

Same for me but my collection spans well back to mark 1. There are models that don't go together they way I would want them to, but that's a design choice rather than a defect in manufacture. All the gaps have been pretty minor and on par better than the older GW metal models (Tyranids, WFB monsters, Beast of Nurgle, and the Land Speeder just to name a few) from GW I worked with.

To late for that, I restarted my PP collection a couple months back... the results? "delays on production"

Totally and literally doomed! I'm waiting for Maelstorm to ship me some Troolbloods the DOOMshaper (now thats a weird coincidence if you believe in coincidences) for almost a week now

But thats nothing compared to what I did with GW... just check their financials reports

Someone please break this damned curse...
