Coming back as a Wrathseer is a very cool idea imo.
I think he is one of the more iconic figures in the 40k universe. 40k is essentially based around hereos and their deeds (whether the heroes be individuals or groups), killing them off seems counter productive.

Hell, bring him back as a 3 foot Titan.

+1 to that. Anything with making a recognizable character playable to the more hardcore audience would be good, but not at the risk of gimping the fluff.

Could easily be wrong as this is hearsay. But I heard Eldrad means oldest in Eldar(ish?) so it would be possible it is just a position that is held by the most powerful Eldar, not necessarily the same person

Possible, but unlikely as eldar are 'immortal'.

No, their spirits go into stones too power stuff, like wraithlords vehicles etc. The don't come back alive

I'm all for him coming back... especially as a wraithlord.

In general, I like the idea of including historical characters in codices. Since the fluff takes us up to the last second of the 41st millennium, I would love to see 6th edition jump back to the Age of Apostasy and fill in characters up to "now" in the fluff.

I'm an Eldar player (obviously) and I have to say, you're wrong. Codex Eldar specifically leaves the cliffhanger "Only the youngest of his [Eldrad's] proteges, Q'sandria believes he may survive" which in GW terms is like a massive neon sign reading: THIS GUY IS GONNA COME BACK WITH A MASSIVE DAEMON SWORD/NEMESIS FORCE GATLING CANNON/MATT WARD'S LATEST WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION. They are a little transparent. Mark my words, next codex Eldrad's either as he is now (GW don't get the idea of ADVANCING THE TIMELINE) or possibly actually able to live up to his title of "World's best psyker", by which I mean some form of rerolls on everything psychic power.

Alternatively there is a small ~5% chance they'll just say "he's dead, get over it" but I somewhat doubt that.

You know, I'm looking into Eldar as a possible next army, and I really like the idea of Eldrad coming back as a wraithlord. Unfortunately, the way my luck has been running, he'll be extremely nerfed as compared to his fluff, and probably cost somewhere around 350 points.

I agree, forward along the plotline! Also, i have no problems using dead characters, I want Roboutte Gulliman, or the emperor as playable models, lol! THe emperor could be worth 5000 pts! re enact the great crusade!

Correct. However, I noticed that every codex I have (vanilla SM, BA, and now GK) has been written by Ward. The way things are going he'll end up writing whatever codex I take an interest in next . I can only hope I'm wrong.
