At games day, We were in line for forge world for about an hour and by the time we got to the register to check out there was exactly 1 copy of WD left. which my friend a new VC player picked up.
I would say this is one of the better issue's of WD i've seen in a long time.

3000pts Skaven 40% painted
2000pts Dwarfs 0% painted
2000pts Bretonia 0% painted
2000pts O&G 0% painted

I don't know if "better" is an accurate word to describe the magazine on the whole. Certainly it's one with more useful content for VC and SoB players but the rest is pretty mediocre.

I picked up a copy from my local GW yesterday. They still had 3 copies left, but seemed surprised how fast it was going.

Wow, kinda funny. I got it almost a week ago in the mail, and it's, i think, the last issue of my now-lapsed subscription. Possibly one more, not sure. I flipped through it half-heartedly and then put it on the shelf.

The only other issue I plan on ever buying is the Necron release one, depending.

Don't worry it will be available by PDF in a few weeks on their website.

Even the SoB stuff is pretty mediocre. You'd have to ask a VC player on their stuff-- my guess is, as the star of the show (Sisters being a side show noone who worked on the thing cared about), they'd get more focus and thus better stuff.

Interstingly the Vampire Counts with 3 (or is 4) new profiles have more pages devoted to describing them and their rules than Sisters do which is a whole army. The whole thing feels like an afterthought to jam in the back and the next one will too probably since they will be pushing Ogre Kingdoms which has newmodels to sell.

With the new delayed subscription shananagians, I was expecting mine to come like the 10th.. but I ended up getting it the 2nd, about the same time as I usually get it. Since you haven't gotten yours yet though, I'm not sure what their method is for shipping.

So the GW meta has gone from units with rules and no models, to models with rules you can't aquire?

Fantasy: 4000 - WoC, 1500 - VC, 1500 - Beastmen
40k: 2000 - White Scars
Hordes: 5/100 - Circle of Orboros

Except for that whole buying the magazine from anywhere else (Mike offered up some above) or waiting for the PDF thing, sure. But you were just hoping to be clever and have us adore you, weren't you?

Broski, troll harder. It's silly to force people to wait and print it out when you could EASILY put the rule in with the model?
And no, prior to your douchebag call out I didn't want you to adore me, I had no idea you existed and my life was better for it...

I'm not your bro, buddy.

Or they could make you buy something... You know, like they do with all the rest of the codexes. In this case, the PDF will be available in September or October. For free. OH NOES!

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of a different company if you think GW is going to put their rules in with the minis. Not only is that going to be a pain if the rules change (since the packaging often stays the same and minis stay on shelves), but they haven't done that going back quite some time (if at all).

Which is odd, as 40K certainly outsells WFB, by a lot!

I'm hoping this is a very temporary stopgap 'codex', and that the real one is out within a year.

Hopefully!

We're past the fold on a rumors thread. Chances of their being anything but pointless arguing?

In all seriousness though, I'm sure we can hold out for a month or two until we get the PDF. Not the end of the world.

My FLGS had two left when I left there yesterday, they saidl they have sold more in past few months than in prior years. Pretty sure a guy wanting VC was buying one of the last ones.

Dunno depends on your definition. For example, a "douche" could easily be a label given to someone who's socially adept but really fething creepy and smarmy about it.

It's a joke, M. You know, the thing that people laugh at or at least chuckle awkwardly.

Speaking of jokes... Thanks for your delightful insight, Slipstream.

Back OT, I felt very good about this White Dwarf. Sure it's a $9 glossy advert, but it is sooo pretty.

You trust GW after they have your money?... most don't trust them before they take it. Personally think its lame that by GW's new policy subscribers are purposefully last people to get their copies.
